pledges into the sorority at
Texas. Southern University in
Houston.
Phi Kappa Theta
Phi Kappa Theta fraternity
will have its Christmas party
22 students
inducted into
honor society
Twenty-two students were in-
itiated into Phi Alpha Theta,
history honor society, Monday
night during services in the
Setzer Student Center.
New initiates include Rodner
N. Balderree, Gwen Beeson,
Mildred Patrice Brimlow, Car-
olyn Aaron Dow, Elizabeth
Ann Feagin and Patrice Ann
Gladen.
And, Jo Ann Goodwin, Kathy
Gail Huber, Evelyn Hughes,
Donna Ann Lifer, Kathryn Sim-
mons Madigan, Donna Carol
Matson, Pamela McKee, and
Catheryn O. McSwain.
Also, Cheryl Morgan, Cyn-
thia Norwood, Kathy Scofield,
Linda Suttle, Linda Ann Ver-
rett, Susan Gail Whitmire, Jes-r

Wind Symphony
plans Sunday
Holiday concert
The newly formed Wind Sym-
phony of Lamar University,
conducted by Dr. C.A. Wiley,
director of bands, will present a
program of Christmas music
Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Lamar
Theatre.
The hour long free concert
will include Christmas songs
such as “Adeste Fideles* to the
■Twelve Days of Christmas*,
concluding with the Hallelujah
Chorus from *The Messiah* by
Handel.
Soloist for the program will
be Gary Weldon, sophomore
music major from Port Arthur.
He will play the carol, *C antique
De Noel* by A. Adams. Weldon
is the first chair trumpeter of
Lamar’s Marching and Jazz
Band, Wind Symphony, and plays
solo trumpet for the musical
group, *4th Cekcion.*
Approximately 100 students
chosen from auditions compose
the Lamar Wind Symphony.
This symphony has been invited
to play concerts across the
southern United States during a
week and one half tour scheduled
for March, 1972.
