Slate Art Show
Two Art Department faculty
members are exhibiting their
work at 1425 Calder in an
exhibition which will continue
until Friday, Nov. 17. The show
began Tuesday and the works
may be viewed Tuesday and
Thursday from 2 until 4 p.m.
and on Sunday from 2 until
5 p.m, in the Mildred Building.
Exhibitors are Robert M.
Willis and Mrs. Norma L. Rich-
ards, an instructor in commer-
cial art. Willis, a graduate of
New Mexico State University,
served in the Peace Corps in
Gabon, Africa, where he became
Interested in African spiritual-
ism and ancestral worship.
Mrs. Richards, who received
her masters degree from New
Mexico State University, has
sculptured during the past year
and a half specializing in human
forms in wood, plaster, cast
bronze and talc.
6 Students Are Pledged
To Music Fraternity
Kappa Kappa Psi, fraternity
for college bandsmen, has six
new pledges according to Steve
Gill, secretary of the pledge
class.
They are Sammy Whitmire,
pledge captain; Steve Gill, James
Pelloat, Ron Wheeler, Mark
Rhone, and Dave Gill.

Rome, Athens, Madrid and the

The Lamar home economics
department is sponsoring the
county contest today and Satur-

Ten girls will be chosen to
represent this area at the dis-
trict meeting Dec. 2> In Hunts-
ville.
The construction of the gar-
ment will be judged this after-
noon. Saturday morning the gar-
ments will be judged
The public is Invited to the
style show which is to be held
in the Physics Building, Satur-
day, at 11 a.m. The winners
will be announced at this time.
