LOOKING AROUND the newly located Spindletop
monument we have had occasion to notice a new
-feature, five foot two, blue-eyed Eleanor Preisach.
A freshman history and sociology major from Beau-
mont, Elly weighs in at 34-22-35. -Pin Up by Cricchio.
Nothing
without wings
climbs like a
’56 Chevrolet!
Ever level off a mountain with
your foot? Nothing to it. Just point
this new ’56 Chevy uphill and ease
down on the gas.
Up you go with a quiet (hy-
draulic-hushed valve lifters now in
all engines—V8 or 6) rush of power.
This is the car, you know, that
broke the Pikes Peak record. The
car that conquered towering grades
and vicious switchback turns to
prove its superior performance,
handling ease and cornering ability.
These are built-in qualities that
mean more driving pleasure and
safety for you. Chevrolet also offers
such safety features as seat belts,
with or without shoulder harness,
and instrument panel padding as
extra-cost options.
There are 19 new Chevrolets—
all with Body by Fisher. Drop in
and drive one.

Education Representative
One of the major topics
of discussion this month in
club meetings, assemblies
and councils, is the advent
of Religious Education
Week, Lamar Tech's first
program of this type will
be held Feb. 7-9 and cer-
tainly deserves to be
marked on your calendar.
Sponsors of Religious
Emphasis Week are the
student centers o n the
campus, but this does not
mean that their members
are the only ones who
should be concerned. It is
the responsibility of every
student on the campus to
support this program. By
your support, we ask that
you attend the assemblies
on Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday in the aud-
itorium .
Since the Canterbury
House, Episcopal Student
Center, is host center this
year, Bishop John Hines
will be main speaker at
these assemblies. His>
theme for the week will be
"The Decisive Encounter."
Re 1 igious Emphasis
Week is not going to be a
mass service in vmich our
campus will be turned into
a church. It will be conduc -
ted so that you, the indivi-
dual student, may gain a
renewed faith in God, and
so that you will have an op -
I portunity to know the joys
that may come through liv -
ing your life for Him.
