ing, in Troop 5 sponsored by St.
John’s United Presbyterian Church
W. Bellfort at Balm.'orth. The
requirements for the Bronze Palm
are, at least 26 merit badges
earned, and Eagle Scout service
of six months. David McIntosh,
5731 Stillbrooke, advanced to Life
Scout in Troop 5.

Airman Second Class Ferdinana
M. Schupp of Houston, is now on
duty with the U.S. Air Force jn
Bankok, Thailand.
Airman Schupp, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ferd F. Schupp of 7245 Hill-
croft, Houston, serves as a wea-
pons mechanic with Air Force
advisory personnel who support
aerospace defense and training
activities -- closely coordinated
with the Royal Thai Air Force.
The airman was graduated from
high school in Bardstown, Ky.
His wife, Ann, is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. William Brack-
sieck of 1171 Berkeley Square,
Louisville, Ky.
Dottie Dobler
Is Honoree
Mrs. M. E. Howard entertained
Miss Dottie Dobler with a Sunday
party, April 3, in her home 5011
Mimosa Street.
The table centerpiece was a
large white feather bunny, holding
a diploma and wearing a gradua-
tion cap. Each guest fixed her
own delicious Sunday, selecting
her favorite ice cream and top-
pings.
Dottie will graduate magna cum
laude from Bellaire High School
in June and is looking forward to
attending Texas Christian univer-
sity in the fall.

aela (Shelley), to A.M. Aikin, lit,
of Paris, Tex. He is the son of
Senator and Mrs. A.M. Aikin, Jr.,
of Paris and Austin. The couple
are attending the University of
Texas, where Mr. Aikin is a mem-
ber of the Phi Kappa Sigma Frat-
ernity. Mrs. Aikin was a pledge
of Alpha Phi. They are at home
in Austin.

To Hear Reports
Of Convention
Reports on the 67th state con-
ference of the Texas Society of
N.S.D.A.R. will be given when the
Alexander Love Chapter meets
April 14 in the Garden Center.
The reports will be made by
Mrs. Eugene W. Fike, Mrs. M.S.
Wilkins, Mrs. John R. Barnett
and Mrs. J.M. Ribble who attend-
ed the conference.
Plans will be made for the
annual picnic to be at the Ala-
bama Coushatta Indian Reserva-
tion. The hostesses will be Mrs.
Robert L. Green, chairman, Mrs.
W.B. Fenner, Mrs. Erwin Heinen,
Mrs. Arthur G. Robinson and Mrs.
Roy L. Arterbury.
DuBose To Open
New Art Gallery
Ben DuBose will open his new
gallery, the DuBose Gallery, Ap-
ril 30 with an exhibition of new
works by painters David Adickes,
Lamar Briggs, Pat Colville, Bill
Condon, Kelly Fearing, Henri Gad-
bois, Anthony Martin, Leila Me
Connell, Herbert Mears, Charles
Pebworth, and Luis Eades. Also
in the show will be printmaker
Mort Baranoff; jewelry designer,
John Lednicky; and victoria Sol-
aim, who works with applique and
embroidery. The formal open-
ing will be from 7 p.m. to 10
p.m.
The gallery, at 2950 Kirby, will
include one large exhibit room and
eight smaller rooms.
There will be an art rental
gallery, and a space where rare
pre-Columbian pieces can be seen.
Prints and postcards reproduced
from the artists' paintings also
will be available.

Club will meet April 22 at 10
a.m. at the Garden Center. Mrs.
R.L. Botts wiil be the speaker
for the program on “The Artis-
tic Judge and the Rose.”
