"Good service is a
far broader concept
than just fast mail
handling, as important
as that is." he says.
"It is also built on
employee courtesy,
our responsiveness to
customer needs, the
sympathy and under -
standing we bring to
your own expectations
of what good postal
service is all about."
Vincent urged cus -
tomers in Cedar Hill to
bring their inquiries
andcomplaintsto the at-
tention of postal per-
sonnel.
And if people feel
their problems have
not been properly han-
dled, Vincent said, they
should see him per-
sonally.
22To make it easier
To make it easier
for a customer to make
a suggestion or com-
plaint about postal
service, the new con-
sumer service card
will be available from
letter carriers and at
post offices.
According to Vin-
cent, the card is two
postal cards with car-
bon paper between
them. "One copy goes
to me so work can be-
in on the problem,"
e said.
"The other goes to
l

or cataloging and ana-
lysis. The cards will
help management spot
problem areas and
trends and take cor-
rective action if neces-
sary."
The Consumer Ser-
vice Program was
tested earlier this year
in Illinois, Massachu-
sets, . Arizona and
Rhode Island.
Postal Customers in
the test found the cards
easy to complete and
most complaints were
resolved to the cus -
tomer's satisfaction.
The card should take
no more than two min-
utes to fill out. Vincent
also said he and his
staff are willing to dis-
cuss any problems,
including lack of cour-
tesy, irregularities in
deliveries or collec-
tions, collection box
convenience and postal
office hours.
"We want you to
come to us with your
problems," concluded
Vincent.
Vincent.
"The whole point of
this service program
is to bring your pro-
blems and gripes out
into the open where we
can attempt to resolve
them."

Behind him is half-
back Larry Meroney
and game-breaker
tailback Dwight Jack-

Gibson describes
Jackson as "like a
filled balloon when you
let itgo---hejust darts
and whips here and
there fast as can be.”
The Lions backs are
all speedy and quick.
Kaufman lines up in
a five-nine defensive
set and is strong up
the middle with tackles
Ronald Cooper, 187,
and Bill Lindsey. 197,
on either side of nose
guard Keith Davis, 212.
And Bynum, 175, and
Mont Stahlman, 181, are
at the linebackers.
And all five are solid
defenders.
And to shut off the
outside, there is Jack-
son, 172, and Roger
Jones, 151, at half-
backs. Both are so fast
they can make mis-
takes and still recover
the play,
called the
week without a game
a ”good week's prac-
tice, where we worked
on fundamentals. Our
job against Kaufman
will be to try to ex-
ecute.”
Game time is 8 p.m.
Lots of flexing may
build up human bodies,
but too much flexing
tears down tires. Un-
derinflation causes an
extreme ’’giving” mo-
tion in the rubber and 11
fabric, which over-
heats and strains the
bond between layers of
tire material.
