A fine rain fell throughout the
Dublin section of country at an early
hour last night. Report* Indicate it
covered a very wide area and was in
the average a fail of around two Inch-
es. .Quie a bit of wind accompanied
the rain and also a considerable elec-
trical disturbance, but no damage of
consequence has been reported within
the territory covered. The rain
was most timely in view of the fact
that farmers! were well up wlhh their
work and were awaiting a good rain
to supply the conditions necessary to
the perfect growth of farm plants.

Production vs. Taxation
I
.Our Representative, Judge King, believing that
there are millions of dollars stored up in the soil
where there are hundreds in the) pockets t»f the Tax
Payers, as shown by the fact that one 500-
pound bale of cotton at present prices of 35c per ! I
pound (seed excluded) raised at each of our 14,000
School Houses, would aggregate $2,450,000. And
one acre of vegetables canned would bring $7,000,000
—Hence Ten bales of Cotton and Ten acres of Vege-
tables at each of said School Houses would aggre-
gate $94,000,000.
