Dallas, Texas, August 10, 1904.
Dear Sir:-
Texas has never been honored by a convention of the International
Association of Fire Engineers. This is surely an oversight.
Dallas wants to entertain you in 1905.
We promise that no pains will be spared to give you a week of
pleasure commensurate with the great work you do for the saving of life
and property.
The wife or sweetheart of the fireman will be as zealously cared
for as the members of the association.
Dallas, the home of the biggest State Fair in the Union, has
ripened into the convention city of this Lone Star commonwealth, and she
bends every effort for the pleasure, convenience and comfort of her
guests.
We will keep you busy seeing and doing.
We will see you at Chattanooga; and upon receipt of this won't
you please write us that you wiil vote for Dallas for 1905?
Very earnestly,
CONVENTION COMMITTEE,
Dallas Commercial Club.
We know a visit to Dallas and Texas in 1905 will never be
forgotten.
ED KAUFMAN, President State Firemens Ass'n.
A. M. PRESCOTT, Vice-President for Texas
International Ass'n Fire Engineers.
H. F. MAGEE, Chief Dallas Fire Department.
