E. E. Stoker and family last
week moved into the T. L. Pitts
residence in North Lancaster.
Mr. Pitts, and family have re-
turned to their home in Red Oak.

tended the lumbermen’s conven-
tions and entertainments in Dal-
las, last week, and entertained
several delegates in their pretty
suburban home.
Dr. W. B. Parks, of T. C. U.,
visited hisr brothers, Dr. (?. T.
and J. M. Parks the latter part
of last week.
Mrs. P. B. Mahoney and son
P. B. came out from Sunday
evening from Dallas, as guests
of J. G. Moore and family.
Mrs. J. A. Lavender and
daughter, Miss Geraldine were

R. E. Taylor and Mrs. E. S. Quy.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Neilon at-
tended the Lumbermen’s Con-
vention, and entertainments in
connection therewith, in Dallas,

Officers and patrol of El Maaz
Temple Dramatic order of the
Kjiights of Khorassan, of Dallas,
to'lhe number of about fifty, vis-
ited Lancaster K. of P. Lodge
Monday. They gave some very
fine drills, and Lancaster lodge
furnished the wherewith for a
smoker.
Mrs. L. J. Irby returned'
home Saturday after a several

T. J. Rossen called Friday and
redewed the subscription of his

Mrs. M. J. Durrett is visiting
her daughter,Mrs. R. A. Walker,
at Temple, and will probably re-
main several weeks.
Mrs. R. V. Stovall received a
painful wound Tuesday by falling
on a stick1 which pierced her
wrist nearly through.
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lamar re-
turned to Dallas Sunday evening
after a week-end visit with Mr.
and Mrs. A. H. Rawlins.
J. A. Waller brought to this
office Wednesday morning a
“hen fruit’’in the shape of two
soft-shelled eggs, joined together.
Several .parties called to see the
eggs, and. all said they had never
seen anything like them.
The Shakespeare Club answe r
ed roll call at Wednesday’s meet-
ings, with civic improvement^
suggestions, It is reported that
the club, is thoroughly alive to this
work. An entertainment-will be
given May 5th to raise funds to
begin this work. If these ladies
get busy improvements will

B. E. White delivered the ad-
dress to the graduating class of
the Wilmer high school Monday

Miss Mattie Gill, who were call-
ers at this office Tuesday spoke
very highly of the address. The
graduating class consisted of
three members, two young ladies
and a young man.
The Blanche Baskin Mission!
Circle held an enthusiastic all
day Easter Prayer service Mon-
day at the Christian Church.
The meeting was led by Mrs.
Cephas Shelburne and a very in-
structive program was given.
Mrs. Rice’s talks of “Pioneer
Work in China” were especially
interesting. Lunch was served
at the church and all enjoyed the
noon social hour. An Easter
Thank of $35 offering was made.

gave a dinner Tuesday night in

surprise event, and not until the
guests arrived did Mr. Scott get
an inkling of the event. The ta-'
ble was elegantly* laid, a beau-
tiful cake, lighted with candles*
being the centefr piece. A chick-
en dinner was followed by straw-
berries and cream and the cut-
ting of the cake. After due re-
