Mary Kay Man gum wed
in United Methodist Church
Mary Kay Mangum and Robert
J. Peterson were wed Sept. 4 in
the Chapel of the Bellaire United
Methodist Church by Rev. Jack
Shelton in a double ring cere-
mony. Mary Kay is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Murray P. Man-
gum of 5318 Maple in Bellaire,
and the groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Douglas Peterson of
Orange, Tex.
The bride was attended by
Jeanette Robertson of Houston as
maid of honor, and the groom was
attended by David Moran of Aus-
tin as best man.
The bride wore a long sleeved
gown of Alencon lace over anti-
que ivory satin. The empire bo-
dice of lace featured a Victor-
ian neckline. She had a detach-
able train of Alencon lace from
the waist embroidered with seed
pearls, and a veil of Candlelight
illusion with a floral headpiece of
stephanotis and ivy. She carried
a bouquet of lilies of the valley,
stephanotis and fern.
Mary Kay graduated from Bel-
laire High School in 1969 and
attended the University of Texas
for two years. Robert Peterson
graduated from Orange High
School in 1965 and attended the
University of Texas for four
years, majoring in Economics.
The couple is presently making
their home in Dallas.

Brenda Diane Daly, daughter
of Mrs. Carl Owen Daly and the
late Mr. Daly, 5255 Jason, and
James Michael Hackedorn, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Bayard Michael
Hackedorn, 3843 Grennech, were
married in August in the Bellaire
Methodist Church by the Rev.
Jack Shelton.
The bride chose a formal gown
of ivory silkened organdy. The
fitted bodice featured a rounded
collar, lowered waistline and full
blown sleeves appliqued with
ivory Chantilly lace bouquets and
touched with white venise lace
blossoms and white vallace. The
A-line skirt was enhanced with
lace appliques and swept to ela-
borate back fullness forming a
circular train of court length.
She was given in marriage by
Ronald Alan Daly, her brother.
Maid of honor was Miss Ca-
therine Daly, sister of the bride
and bridesmaids were Lynn Hac-
kedorn, Miss Gloria Polito of
Baton Rouge, La., Miss Laura
Susan Freeman of Houston and
Mrs. Charles A. O’Brien, IH of
Baton Rouge.
Best man was Gary Hall and
groomsmen were Charles Her-
der, Robert Smith, Dennis Bla-
schke and Bill Braddy. Ushers
were Don White and Mark Hich-
ens.
Following a wedding trip to
Lake Travis, the couple will be at
home in College Station.
Both are graduates of Bellaire
HIGH School and the bride is a
graduate of Louisiana State Uni-
versity where she was a mem-
ber of Delta Gamma sorority. The
groom will graduate in December
from Texas A&M University
where he is a member of the Ross
Volunteers.

The engagement of Miss Susan
Gail Barber to William M. Bar-
nes, is announced by her mother,
Mrs. Edna Barber of 4501 Maple
St., Bellaire. Miss Barber is a
graduate of Bellaire High School
and Baylor University. Mr. Bar-
nes is a graduate of Oklahoma
State University. The wedding
date has been set for Nov 26
at the Bellaire Methodist Church.
