merce has adopted the 1951 Crusade
for Freedom as a statewide project,
Jaycee President L. D. Whiteley of
Lubbock, announced today.
The crusade for Freedom is a gi-
gantic program to erase communism
everywhere.
The 1951 campaign seeks to enlist
25 million Americans who want to
destroy communism and protect the
American way of life in this country.
It will be kicked off Labor Day and
run the entire month of September.
Jaycees in the 137 local units will
strive to reach Texas’ goal of 862,500
participants.
The Crusade supports Radio Free
Europe, a network of radio stations
pin pointed along the Soviet orbit to
broadcast truth and hope to peoples
enslaVed behind the Iron Curtain and
refute lies of the Reds.
Purpose of the 1951 Crusade is to
expand the freedom network in Eu-
rope and establish a similar operation
in Asia to counteract propaganda and
distortions of the Bolshevists in the
Far East.
Truth is the only weapon which
will subdue Communism,” Whiteley
said. “And the Crusade stations yi a
proved method of placing the truth
before the people who need it most—
those imprisoned behind the Iron Cur-:
tain.”
