PURPOSE: The Johnson County Genealogical Society originated from the effort of the founders
to collect as well as preserve genealogical and historical information about the people of
Johnson County. Its purpose is to inform as well as aid members in genealogical research and to
publish records of Interest to those seeking their genealogical background.
MEMBERSHIP: Membership in the JCGS (including a subscription to Finders Keepers) is open to
all upon payment of annual dues: $15.00 for single membership - $20.00 for a family membership
(two or more per household) - however, only one copy of the society publication will be mailed
for each single and family membership. Dues for ensuing year are payable in January. A year's
membership includes two double issues of the Finders Keepers- Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter
regardless of date joined. The Spring/Summer publication will not be mailed to last year's
members whose dues have not reached the Treasure by February 15th. Send dues to:

MEETINGS: Regular meetings are held at 7;30 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
Meeting place - Cultural Hall, The Church of Jesus Christ of L.D.S., 303 S. Nolan River Road,
Cleburne, Tx. Please use East Entrance. VISTORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.
CONTRUBUTIONS: Contributions (Bible records, ancestors charts, stories, etc.) to Finders
Keepers are welcome and used at the discretion of the staff, who may be required to edit in

Back issues of Finders Keepers are available at $4.00 per issue plus $1.00 postage and handling
fee.
QUERIES: Queries are free to members. Deadlines for submitting queries is the same as other
contributions. Queries should include dates, places and full names, if possible. All surnames
occurring in the query should be typed in all caps at the beginning of the query. Queries should
be typed if at all possible.
