Extracurricular activi-

in the lives of our students.
We had students advance
in UIL literary events, FFA
contests, volleyball, foot-
ball, basketball, powerlift-
ing, golf, and track.
YISD was honored to
have students compete at
the state level in track with
Jay den Barefield earning
the gold medal in the 200-
meter dash and Caitlin
Bruns earning a gold
medal in powerlifting at
state competition. Our
teams and individual stu-

job representing our school
and community for the
2010-2011 school year.
As we ended the year,
our students were recog-
nized for their achieve-
ments at various banquets
and ceremonies. It is
always great to see our
young people excel in their
academic and extracurricu-
lar activities.
On May 27, 46 seniors
graduated at Wildcat
Stadium. Congratulations
to these young adults and
best wishes to them.
The board would like to
thank the administration,
teachers, and staff for their
hard work and commit-
ment to the children of
Yorktown ISD. The
Yorktown ISD school
