Calf for CASA’ event set for May 31

ATHENS-The Court
Appointed Special Advo-
cates (CASA) have re-
ceived a calf from an
anonymous donor to be
auctioned off for the “Calf
for CASA” program from
noon to 1 p.m. Friday,
May 31, at the Athens
Sales Bam, located on SH
31, on the western edge of
-Athens
CASA of Trinity Valley
will benefit from the pro-
ceeds.
CASA are a group of
volunteers who represent
the abused of neglected
children in court who have
been removed from their
homes by the Texas De-
partment of Family and
Protective Services.
The volunteers represent
the children ’s best interests
in legal matters.

periences and the applica-
tion of common sense, the
volunteer makes recom-
mendations to the court.
We are especially grate-

CASA to continue work-
ing for those children who
are victims of abuse and
neglect.

Creek Lake and $1,000 from the Cedar Creek Lake
Parrot Head Club. He was also one of eight
