District Three Fail Meeting
Lodge 154, Fort Worth
October 26, 2003
Sister Mary Steinman, District
President, called the meeting to order
at 11 a.m. Everyone was asked to
stand for the posting of colors. The
Flag Bearers, Max Křivánek, Makayla
Yates, and Gena Weeks posted colors.
Makayla Yates led the Pledge of
Allegiance. Gena Weeks read Youth
Pledge.
Brother Jerry Milan, Lodge 154
President, welcomed everyone. Also,
as SPJST Library, Archives and
Museum (LAM) representative, he
reminded everyone to visit the muse-
um in Temple. Repairs are being made
in the building where the museum will
be re-located. He thanked Gladys
Yates for the donation from the SPJST
Annual Golf Tournament.
Sister Kay Weeks, District First
Vice President, gave response to the
welcome.
Bessie Petr and the youth group pre-
sented a youth program. Program con-
sisted of Halloween jokes. District
King, Douglas Galler, District Duke,
Tommy Weeks, District Queen, Ráchel
Hunter and District Duchess, Amanda
Jurik were recognized. The Halloween
costume contests for the adults and
youths were then started. Sister Mary
Steinman announced the judges for the
contest. Judges are Rome Milan from
Lodge 154, Helen Kubala from Lodge
92, and Lydia Dobecka from Lodge 6.

and third plače - Jennifer Andreason
from Lodge 84. Youth contest winners

Sister Mary Steinman announced
Brother Sid Kacir from the Home
Office. Brother Kacir sends greeting
to all from the Home Office. He men-
tioned that the CEFT (Czech
Education Foundation of Texas) had a
Czech music disc available for a dona-
tion of $35. The University of North
Texas College of Music made the disc.
It was also mentioned that there is a
raffle for the SPJST Education and
Nátuře Center going on.
Sister Bessie Petr then held a speciál
memoriál for Donna Jean Culliton,
who passed away during the year due
to difficulties during breast cancer
treatments. Donna is the mother of
youth members Nick and Kimberly
Culliton. Nick and Kimberly lit can-
dles and then a moment of silence was
observed.
Sister Gladys Yates of the Home
Office then presented speciál awards to
the youth of District Three who were
winners of contests during the Texas
Fratemal Congress. Photo Contest:

Douglas Galler gave the blessing
before the meal. Sister Mary Steinman
then dismissed the meeting to lunch
until 1 p.m. Meeting resumed at 1:20
p.m. Prizes were awarded.
Sister Steinman dismissed the youth
to their meeting. Sister Steinman then
turned the floor over to Brother
Johnnie Krizan, District Three
Director. Brother Krizan thanked
everyone for coming and Lodge 154
for having the meeting.
Congratulations to the youth for a great
job. Thank you everyone. He recog-
nized District Queen, Ráchel Hunter
from Lodge 25, and District King
Douglas, Galler from Lodge 66. He
continued to report: SPJST goal year
2003 - reached marketing goal third
year in a row - reaching growth quota.
District Three - a little behind - but
should come through at the end of the
year. Jerry Kučera could not be here
because his mother is having a 90th
birthday party. Regarding insurance
sales for the year, District Three come
out even or a little above. We are
doing a good job. The SPJST scholar-
ship drive will end on March 31, 2004.
Books for this year will close on
December 30, 2003. Get everything
in. Convention will be June 13
through 16,2004. This is where every-
thing is decided. District Three will be
prepared at the convention. S upřeme
Lodge Officers are working for every-
one. Brother Krizan mentioned that he
intends to run for District Director
again.
He hopes that everyone will want him
to continue to represent them. Last
year, the Supreme Lodge would give
each Director money to donate to non-
profit organizations. He, along with
three area lodges, contributed some of
the money to the West area Boy Scout
Troop for purchase of an equipment
trailer. Some other money, along with
Lodge 183, went to Arlington
Women’s Shelter. Any lodge that
knows of a need should contact
Brother Krizan to see if he can help
with his discretionary fund. Brother
Krizan then introduced Anton
Pustejovsky, President of CEFT.
CEFT was established at Texas
University of North Texas to teach
Czech (mainly music). Funds raised
from endowment is ušed to give grants
to students. Brother Krizan asked the
district to see if a donation could be
made to the CEFT. Brother Krizan
then turned the floor back to Sister
Steinman.
Sister Martha Durham gave treasur-
er’s report. Brother AI Kercho made a
motion to except the report as given.
Motion seconded by Sister Rose
Steinman. Motion passed.
Old Business—There was no old
business to discuss.
New Business
Sister Mary Steinman asked the
membership if it felt that the district
could donate to the CEFT. After dis-
cussion, Brother AI Kercho made a
motion that the district donate $1,000
to the CEFT. Motion seconded by
Sister Martha Durham. Motion
passed.
Brother Johnnie Krizan announced
to the membership that he would
match any donation given to the CEFT
made by anyone of District Three up to
the remaining amount that he had
available to him from the Supreme
Lodge.
Discussion was made to send letters
to district lodges to see if they would
donate to CEFT. Letters will be sent
out and donations should be sent to
District Treasurer Martha Durham. A
District Seven
reports on
spring meeting
District Seven Spring Meeting was
hosted by Lodge 79, Corpus Christi on
March 14, 2004 with 125 members
and guests attending. First Vice
President Glen Pruski presided.
Phillip Barta, Kevin Bayer, Josh
Bayer, and Reese Tatman posted the
colors and led the Pledge of
Allegiance. Lodge 79 President Jerry
Sijansky welcomed everyone. District
Seven Second Vice President Jerry
Sijansky paid tribute to the deceased
members. Appointed to the nominat-
ing committee were Valerie Barta,
Darla Jaimes, and Frank Sacky.
Auditing committee appointees were
Polly Bayer, Dianě Korus, and Frances
McDonald. Lodges represented were
79, Corpus Christi; 107, Floresville;
117, Robstown; 164, Rio Hondo; 185,
New Braunfels; 202, Jourdanton; 217,
Alice (not chartered); 247, San Marcos
(not chartered).
Secretary Bettie House read the
minutes and correspondence. District
presentation of the donation should be
made at the District Three Spring
Meeting.
Site for the next meetings and Youth
Achievement Day (YAD) were dis-
cussed: Lodge 84, Dallas, will host the
Spring Meeting on Apríl 25, 2004.
Lodge 183 is working on hosting
District YAD this year. It may háve to
be held on Saturday aftemoon. This
will be discussed by the youth depart-
ment and decided by the spring meet-
ing.
Fall Meeting/Fun Fest is still open.
There was no lodge asking to host this
meeting.
Lodge 6, Cottonwood asked to host
District Three Spring Meeting in 2005.
No other lodges made request. Lodge
6 will host meeting on Apríl 24, 2005.
Committee Reports: Reports were
available at the registration table.
Other items for the interest of the
District: Brother George Pauling
brought up that we should check with
our members to see if they are interest-
ed in having the Fall Funfest. It
becomes a problém getting lodges to
host this event. He would like this dis-
cussed further at the spring meeting.
Sister Martha Durham presented
Sister Rose Steinman, Vice President
of Lodge 154, with two checks—one
for hosting the meeting and the other
for lunches paid by the district. Sister
Steinman indicated that the can goods
collected will be given to St. Thomas’
Food Bank.
Brother Johnnie Krizan presented a
check to Tony Pustejovsky with a
check for $1,000 for CEFT.
Sister Mary Steinman reported that
there were 358 canned goods and nine
jellos collected from the membership.
There were 104 members in atten-
dance.
Sister Rose Steinman made a
motion that since there was no other
business to discuss, that the meeting be
adjourned. Motion seconded by
Brother Tom Weeks. Motion passed.

Seven Fratemal Activities Coordinator
(FAC) Glen Pmski recognized the 50-
and 75-year members, and age 96 hon-
orees.
Supreme Lodge Secretary-
Treasurer Lanita Anglin reported on
investments, activities scheduled for
the convention in June, and presented
checks to the district.
District Seven Director Bob Bayer
reported 2003 was a fabulous year. Six
lodges in the district won incentive
awards. Lodge 239, Hondo was char-
tered on January 19, 2004. Lodge 247,
San Marcos will be chartered Apríl 8,
2004. The district is still collecting
aluminum can tabs, white bottle caps,
and eyeglasses. Jerry Elzner reported
Lodge 79, Corpus Christi collected 71
pairs of eyeglasses.
District Seven State Field
Representative Hector Garda recog-
nized the sales representatives.
District Seven met its quota in January
and is at present, number one in statě
in sales and applications.
