ATTEND CHURCH THIS SUNDAY!
Jesus And The Angels
By Dennis Prutow
How well prepared are you for
Christmas? You are probably much
better prepared than the shepherds
were on that first Christmas night so
long ago. They were not at all ready to
receive Christ as He came into the
world. They had to be prepared by an
angel.
Imagine, there they were, fetching
their sheep at night and “An angel of
the Lord suddenly stood before them .
. .” (Luke 2:9). “And the angel said to
them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I
bring you good news of great joy which
shall be for all the people; for today in
the city of David there has been born
for you a Savior, who is Christ the
Lord’” (Luke 2:10-11).
And as if this were not enough,
“Suddenly there appeared with the
angel a multitude of the heavenly host
praising God, and saying, ‘Glory to
God in the highest, and on earth,
peace among men with whom He is
pleased’” (Luke 2:13-14). Yes, a whole
host of angels appeared to the shep-
herds and sang to them about the
coming of Christ.
Do you need this kind of announce-
ment about Christmas? No, you are
perfectly aware of the coming of
Christmas. You have been consumed
with buying presents and wrapping
packages. Perhaps you already have
a Christmas tree decorated. And if you
don’t have your Christmas cards pre-
pared and mailed, it’s almost too late.
But how does all of this relate to the
Christmas the angels announced to
the shepherds? In the end, it does not
have a great deal to do with the first
Christmas. Why? Because the angels
prepared the shepherds to receive
Jesus Christ. And so, if you are not
prepared to receive the Lord Jesus
Christ into your life, you are not really
prepared for Christmas at all.
The following merchants urge you and
your family to attend your chosen

From The Bible
By Jerry Kingery
My Refuge And My Fortress
He that dwelleth in the secret
place of the most High shall
abide under the shadow of the
Almighty. I will say of the Lord,
He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust. Surely
he shall deliver thee from the
snare of the fowler, and from the
noisome pestilence. He shall
cover thee with his feathers, and
under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and
buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid
for the terror by night; nor for the
arrow that flieth by day; nor for
the pestilence that walketh in
darkness; nor for the destruction
that wasteth at noonday. A thou-
sand shall fall at thy side, and
ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou
behold and see the reward of the
wicked.
Because thou hast made the
Lord, which is my refuge, even
the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee,
neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling. For he shall
give his angels charge over
thee, to keep thee in all thy
ways. They shall bear thee up in
their hands, lest thou dash thy
foot against a stone. Thou shalt
tread upon the lion and adder:
the young lion and the dragon
shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love
upon me, therefore will I deliver
him: ! will set him on high,
because he hath known my
name. He shall call upon me,
and I will answer him: I will be
with him in trouble; I will deliver
him, and honour him. With long
life will I satisfy him, and shew
him my salvation.
It is a good thing to give
thanks unto the Lord, and to sing
praises unto thy name, 0 most
High.
