Festive Site
Woodsboro. — The home of Mr.
and Mrs. Jerry Henry and chil-
dren was the scene of a Thanks-
giving dinner and afternoon “get-
together".
There for dinner were Mr. and
Mrs. A. C. Smpith and children,
Janet and Gary, of Warren and
Mrs. Minnie Alice Smith.
Ih the afternoon, other} guests in-
cluded Mr. and Mrs. Arch Zabel of
Falfurrias, Mr. and Mjrs. Boyce
Gillespie of 'Corpus Christi, and
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gillespie
and children, John and Julie.
Woodsboro. — Twelve Woodsbo-
ro High School Band members
made the All - District Band Sat-
urday, December 7, in Beeville.
They include [Ray Elizondo, bari-
tone; William Lamjson, alto clari-
net; Loretta Kneip, French horn;
David Boerm, comet; Erasmo Es-
camilla, bass; Joye Hoffman,
clarinet; Richard Harrison, trom-
bone.
Also, Mary Holmes, clarinet; Jo
Anne Slaughter, tenor saxophone;
Jane Kbontz, bass clarinet; Rich-
ard Sanchez, clarinet; and Dianne
Lopez, charinet.
Accomjpanying the band to Bee-
ville were Mirs. Richard Borden,
Mrs. Clayton Holmes, Mrs. J. L.
Hoffman, M!rs. C. W„ Lamjson, and
Alfred Ewald.
Marvin Null was in Dallas dur-
ing the week end on business.
Mrs. E. P. Stocking and son,
Eugene, attended the annual Quin-
tana barbecue in Refugio, Satur-
day, December 7.
Woodsboro. — Dave Crumpton,
son of Mjr. and Mrs. W. P. Crump-
ton, was injured Sunday, Decem-
ber 8, at about 6 p.n^.
Dave’s motor bike was hit by a
car and he was thrown off the
bike.
Crippens Enjoy
Woodsboro Visit
Woodsboro. —> Mr. and Mrs. E.
R. Crippen and children of La-
fayette, Louisiana, were here visit-
ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
H. Adams, from Wednesday nite
to Sunday during the holidays.
Friday after Thanksgiving they
all went to Kenedy to visit Mrs.
Adams’ mother, Mrs. Stella Mc-
Millan.
That nite they attended the foot-
ball game in Karnes City.
Baptists To Hold
All-Church Supper
On December 18
Woodsboro. — The First Bap-
ist Church announces that there
Will be an All-Church Supper and
Christmas Social on Wednesday
evening, December 18 beginning at
6. The menu will be turkey and
dressing which has already been
arranged for, and covered dishes
brought by the mlemjbers.
The purpose of the get-together
will be fellowship and an oppor-
tunity for the memfbers to get to-
gether to visit with one another.
The regular church midweek ser-
vice of worship will follow the so-
cial. All the members are urged
to take advantage of this time of
social fellowship and come, bring-
ing a covered dish, if possible.

gery November 15. Mrs. Lopez
said he is “getting along fine”.
Mr. and Mrs. Wade Adams and
Susan visited during the Thanks-
giving holidays with relatives in
East Texas.
Having Thanksgiving dinner in
Corpus Christi with their children,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Holmies and
boys and Mr. and Mirs. Norman
Simoneau and daughter, were Mr.
and Mrs. C. S. Holmes and Mary.
All met at the Charles Holmes
for the dinner.

Mrs. Steve Faust and family of
Corpus Christi.
Sunday afternoon and nite guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Doubrava
were her brother and sister-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Macken, of
Lafayette, Louisiana.
Mrs. Henry Heard of Harlingen
visited with her mother, Mrs. F.
R. Gerwick, the early part of this
week.
Week end guests in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Telge were
his brother and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar Telge and children, of
Houston.
E. A. Watters was gone four
days last week to Marble Falls
where he was working on a farm.
Visiting several days last week
in Shreveport, Louisiana with their
daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Hugh West and daughters, were
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Pullin.
Visiting during the Thanksgiv-
ing week end in the hom^e of Mr.
and Mrs. Jerry Wbtipka Were her
sister and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Jamies Davis and two children,
of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and her
mother, Mrs. Faustin Boudreaux,
of Labadieville, Louisiana.
Sunday, November 24, (guests in
the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. S.
Holmies were her sister and aunt,
Mrs. Nita Fehlis and Mrs. J. B.
Clark, both of Corpus Christi.
Miss Gordon Warren went to San
Antonio Thanksgiving Day to visit
her sister, Miss Dorris Warren.
Having Thanksgiving dinner
with Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Wilson
were their children, Daryle Wil-
son and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Roper, all of the University of Cor-
pus Christi.
Thanksgiving dinner guests in
the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. W.
Bruchmlller were Mr. and Mrs.
Pete Rippey and Mr. and Mrs.
Delbert Kiggins of Houston and
Altanette Bruchmaller of Sam
Houston State College, Huntsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Davis of
Waco visited during the Thanks-
giving holidays with her parents,

from Austin during the Thanks-
giving week end visiting his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Mc-
Kelvey.

Bennett, all of Sam Houston State
College, Huntsville, were here for
the Thanksgiving holidays visiting
the girls’ parents and brother, Mr.
and Mrs. Hal Bazar and Ford Hal.
Mrs. Boyce Wimberly visit-
ed several weeks recently in Aus-
tin with her daughter - in - law,
Mrs. Horace Wimberly, and fam-

Corpus Christi business visitors

Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hoch were
week end guests in Aransas Pass
with her aunt and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Gjambill and chil-
dren.
Relatives Visit

Woodsboro. —• Amoving Mon-
day, November 25 for a visit with
Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Schultz were
their daughter and son-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Larry Haufler, of
Orange. They stayed until Friday.
Thanksgiving day the Schultz’
daughter and family from Alamo,
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Obst and chil-
dren, were here for dinner.
That afternoon, they all went to
Weesatche to visit Mrs. Schultz’
parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Rie-
menschneider.
Mrs. M. Renfro's
Mother Visiting
Woodsboro. — Mirs. Mike Renfro
visited in Fort Smith, Arkansas
for about two weeks with her
mother, Mrs. Betty Tilley.
Her mfother accompanied her
home Thursday, December 5. Mirs.
Tilley plans to stay here until
about the middle of February.
Boone Resigns
SS Appointment
Woodsboro. — Clarence Boone
attended a Selective Service 'board
meeting in Victoria Monday, De-
cember 9. Hie turned in his offi-
cial resignation at this session.
Mrs. Boone and Mrs. Alleene
Williams accompnied him to Vic-
toria.

Shoots His Deer
Woodsboro. — g. W. McKelvey
went to Hondo hunting last week
end. His son, Buster, of Austin
met him there Saturday for the
hunting trip.
McKelvey killed one deer, but
Buster did not get one on that
trip.

Of Family Fete
Woodsboro. — The family of
Mrs. Minnie Alice Smith miet for
‘Family Get-together” Saturday
at noon, after Thanksgiving, at
Moya’s Cafe in Refugio.
Twenty - three members of the
family were present. They were
Mrs. Minnie Alice Smith, Mr. and
Mrs. A. C. Smith and children of
Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Za-
bel of Falfurrias, Mr. and Mrs.
Boyce Gillespie of Corpus Christi,
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Smith and
Mr. and Mrs. Pat Smith and chil-
dren of Rocfcport, and Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth Gillespie and chil-
dren and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hen-
ry and children of Woodsboro.
They all went from the cafe to
the Refugio home of Mr. and Mrs.
Boyce Gillespie for coffee in the
afternoon.

game between A&M College and
the University of Texas Thanks-
giving Day, at College Station,
were Mr and Mrs. G. A. Stein-
dorf, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schu-
bert, Mr. ad Mrs. W. W. Schu-
bert, Theresa Null, Carol Durdin,
and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Dorn.

ubert, and Gary Schubert accomw
panied their parents home for the
week end.

Thanksgiving Dance
Woodsboro. — Mr. and Mrs.
Marvin Null attended a dance
Thanksgiving nite at the Sun Val-
ley Country Club, Victoria.
Mr and Mrs. Null were guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Jim, Bennett.
Music was furnished by the Glen
Miller Band.

recently with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J. B. ,Pullin and Mr.
and Mrs. R. E. Griffith, Jr., and
with other elatives Were Mr. and
Mrs. Allen Pullin of Wichita Falls.
They had Thanksgiving dinner
with his parents.

Christi visited her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Milton Boenig, Thanks-
giving Day.

Sherwood Shores Home
Woodsboro. — Mr. and Mrs. J.
H. Adams went to Austin Monday
nite, December 2.
Tuesday morning, they went on
to Sherwood Shores on Granite
Shoals Lake. They returned home
Wednesday.
The Adams are building a home
at Sherwood Shores.

Visits in Bazar Home
Woodsboro.—Guests in the home
of Mr. and Mir. Hal Bazar Satur-
day nite and Sunday, November
26 and 27 was Mrs. Fred Mana-
han of New Mexico.
She accompanied her daughter
and son-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. W.
P. Fletcher, of Danbury, who stay-
ed Saturday nite With the Bazars.
Sunday Rev. Fletcher preached at
First Baptist Church in Odemi
They came back by Sunday nite,
and Mrs. Manahan went home
with them.
