Markstrom
Stanley
In Loving Memory Of
Carl-Eric Markstrom, M.D.
February 13, 1932 - November 30, 2007
Dr. Carl Markstrom leaves behind his loving wife, Norma, to tie
up all of the loose ends which is something that she has learned to do so
very well over the past 55 years of married life to “Doc” as she so de-
votedly calls him. They brought into their marital union tow wonderful
daughters: Brenda and Debbie. The daughters, in turn, gave “Doc” and
“Oma” grandchildren. Breand and her husband, Mike Hart provided
them with Brandon and his wife Sarah; Sonya and her fiance Leonard;
John Eric; and Megan. Debbie and her husband, Bob Pessing lovingly
contributed Cameron and Kirsten. What a beautiful family; what a lov-
ing family; what a talented family the Markstroms shared. They all
shined at the memorial service on Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. at
the First Seventh Day Adventist Church between Haskell and Fitzhugh
Avenue.
For anyone who wishes to make some kind of contribution or do-
nation in Dr. Markstrom’s honor may do so to:

It’s hard, indeed, to say “goodbye”, “farewell”, “so long”, etc., to
a man whose name has become synonymous with old friend and confi-
dant, teacher or the person in whom you could trust to really tell you
that you were not always right, but that he would always be there for
you if you ever needed someone. He really meant every word he ever
said to you. If he said that he would pray for you then you better know
that he would. His word was his bond. Even in the end he was a strong
man; weak in body yet strong in faith. He loved God, and he loved his
faith. He stood strong in his belief that it was worth fighting the good
fight and that a crown of righteousness was awaiting him one day. I
believe he’s wearing it today! Anyone whom ever walked through the
door of his doctors office never left without knowing about Jesus, and if
they wanted to play the game of “I don’t understand English” it was too
bad because Dr. Carl-Eric Markstrom always spoke your language.
I thank God I have been blessed with the wonderful privilege of
knowing and being treated by this find doctor and his wonderful nurse
(his precious wife), Norma for 30 years. That was my gift from God. I
was his “cheese lady” in return, his friend, and we were prayer partners
too. He never had a bad word to say about anyone; he loved all. He
was there to anyone who needed anything.
A mighty man has left our midst.
A great and might min is now missing from our sight.
Our hearts are heavy for the heaviness of our loss, but God’s Spirit
will guide us to the place where we’ll find peach from within. Until we
meet again..For Norma Markstrom and Family...Penny Griffin
My Beloved Husband
Today we have come to bid final farewell to a dear and loving
friend. Throughout Doc’s lifetime he touched many of our lives. Doc
was not only concerned with our physical well being but more impor-
tantly our Spiritual health. His Lord and Savior was utmost his number
one love. His love and kindness for others is a wonderful testament to
his faith and generosity.
I am thankful that I could share and work with him for 55 years
and share many experiences with him. I’m happy to have been the one
to care for him through his last breath. I express for Carl and myself a
special thanks to my children and grandchildren and his dear sister who
came to give so much love and support and help in these last weeks.
Many thanks, to everyone for your fervent prayers and calls. God
has been good in our lives.
Doc’s memory will live on in many of our hearts.
Lovingly,
Norma

band Steve of Bryan, Jan Tredway

Doris was the eldest of four

animals with their daddy. Doris
and her siblings attended class
with all students in a one room
school in Iredell, Texas. In Dorris’
83 years she was a student, wait-
ress, beautician, nurse and man-
aged a small business. She moved
to Seagoville in 2001 and became
a member of the First Baptist
Church.
Ms. Stewart was always
busy with many interest and hob-
bies. She had a green thumb and
loved gardening as well as canning
vegetables. Doris also enjoyed arts
& crafts. Friends liked these ob-
jects and wanted their own so be-
fore long she was making things
for a small city. Animals were
another love as she always had a
pet or two in her home and raised
birds for several years.
Doris enjoyed live plays and
shows, going to wrestling, cook-
ing, baking and hot air ballooning.
She was fascinated with travel and
site-seeing and took her first train
ride at age 83 on an old steam en-
gine in the spring of this year. Be-
ing outdoors with nature was her
favorite pass time. After dinner she
took a glass of tea and a pet to sit
on the porch in her swing until the
mosquitoes ran her back in the
house.
After retirement, Doris en-
joyed reading and had collected
every release from several differ-
ent authors. Her other collections
included coins and postage stamps
from around the world. She be-
came involved with the Elvis net-

fan clubs. Ms. Stewart went to
Memphis several times and met
pen friends from other countries as
well as the U.S.
Ms. Stewart loved everyone
and never met a stranger. She was
kind, loving and always willing to
help. She loved the Lord and was a
Christian all her life. Her heart was
bigger than she was. Doris enjoyed
contributing and being part of
something and strived to make this
world a better place.
Anyone who knew Doris has
never seen her without a container
of water or tea, a toothpick,
Kleenex or lip dew. No matter
how she was dressed or what she
was doing she always wore a
watch and had these items. Her
family made sure she was taken
care of as these items went with
her to her resting place.
Services were held at First
Baptist Church in Seagoville on
Friday November 30, 2007 at
10:00 am with a viewing one hour
before. She was laid to rest at

Cemetary.
