Summer Reading
Students choose from a list of authors
DISD—Students who keep reading during the summer are more
likely to perform better in school next year, which is why programs
such as the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club are a great way for stu-

A list of authors is available for students to choose from to par-
ticipate in the program. The authors are split by grade levels to ensure
the students read with their reading level and family values. These
author’s books are compatible with the summer reading club as well
as the Dallas ISD reading list.
