The truck farmers of Orange county
met Saturday afternoon at the court
Jjiouse pursuant to adjournment from
the first meeting, held Saturday,
May 26. ,
It wiirbe remembered that officers
and directors were elected and a com-
mittee on constitution and by-laws
appointed at the first meeting and this
reported at Saturday’s
BY-LAWS.
Article I.
Section 1. Nine members shall1
constitute a quorum to transact busi-
ness.
Section 2. All persons wishing to j
address the meeting must address the j
presiding officer and receive recogni-
tion before he shall be allowed to pro-
ceed.
Section 3. Any member having
voted with the majority upon any
question, may move Its reconsidera-
tion*
Section 4. All questions shall be
decided by majority vote of members
present
Bectlon 6. Every rule thst may be
adopted by this Association shall re-
main In force until abrogated or sus-
pended by two-thirds vole of the
members present at any regular meet-
ing.
Section 3. This Association shall
meet cm the first Saturday of each
month at 2 o’clock p. m., at such place
as may be designated from time to
time. Special meetings’may be called
by the President at such time as he
may deem necessary or upon the ap-
plication of five members.
Section 7. The members of the
Board of Directors shall be allowed
reasonable compensation for their
services, and shall make an itemised
bill and present same to the Associa-
tion once per quarter.
Section 8. When In session, none
but members shall take part In dis-
cussions, or address the meeting, ex-
cept by invitation or permission of
the Chairman.

Secretary Bretscbnelder read sev-
eral telegrams from various commis-
sion houses and It was decided to
ship a car of potatoes today. Enough
were assured by the various truckers
present to make up a full car and the
price, 75c per bushel f. o. b. Orange
was, considering the lateness of the
season, an excellent one.
The committee on constitution and
by-laws submitted the following, which
were adopted by unanimous vote!
Preamble.
For the purpose of advancing the
Interests of ourselves In the growing
of fruit, truck and other farm products
we, the undersigned, hereby bind
ourselves together under the name of
"The Orange County Fruit and Truck
Association” and we hereby agree
upon and adopt the following consti-
tution and by-laws:
CONSTITUTION.
Article 1.
Section 1. This Association shall
be known as the Orange County Fruit
and Truck Association.
Section 2. The purposes for which
this organization is formed are to buy
and sell fruits, vegetables and other
farm products and to do and perform
such acts as would naturally be
proper under Section 24 of Article
642 of the Revised "Statutes of
Texas.
Section 3. The principal office of the
Association shall be in the city of
Orange, Texas.
Section 4. The officers of this As-
sociation shall consist of a President,
Vice President, Secretary. Treasurer,
and a board of five directors, one of
which Bhall be the Secretary, who will
be president of said board. All of the
officers shall be elected by ballot on
the first Saturday In June of each
year.
Section 5. All persons actually en-
gaged In the production of fruits, veg-
etables, poultry or dairy products
shall be eligible for membership In
this Association, and their application
for membership shall be in open
meeting referred to the Board of Di-
rectors. and upon their approval of
the same the applicant shall be de-
clared elected.
Section 6. Any member of the
Board of Directors, except its presi-
dent, may be removed by a two-thirds
vote of the members present at any
meeting of this Association.
Section 7. The following is hereby
adopted as the seal of this Associa-
tion: Star design In center, with
"Orange County Fruit and Truck As-
sociation” in circle around star.
Article II.
Duties of Officer*.
Section 1. It shall be the dnty of
the President to preside over all
meetings, and perform such duties as
la generally consistent with such of-
fice, and be shall have no vote ex-
cepting on a tie, when he shall cast
the deciding vote. The Vice Presi-
dent skill act in the Absence of the
President, and perform the duties of
the office in accordance with parlia-
mentary usages.
Section 2. It ahall be the duty of
the Secretary to keep accurate min-
utes of the transaction of the proceed-
ings of the Association; receive and
receipt for all moneys, and pay same
over to the Treasurer, taking receipt
for same; to keep a correct roll of
membership. He ahall make an an-
nual report of the moneys received
and expended, and the amount on
Pipe fitting*.

shall be to examine the books of all
officers, at such time as they rosy bo

tion, and always at the end of the

Section 10. The initiation fee for
membership in thiB Association shall
be One Dollar, which must accom-
pany the written application of the
applicant for memberhip before the
Board of Directors shall consider the
same, which ahall apply to all Joining
this Association after the meeting at
which these by-laws are adopted. The
annual dues shall be One Dollar, pay-
able quarterly in advance, and no
member hi arrears for dues shall be
entitled to the services of the Board
of Directors or to recognition upon
the floor of the Association.
Section 11. Memberss shipping
goodp through the Board of Directors
shall allow them five per cent on net
cash sales made and upon other sales
such fees as they may agree upon. _
