Provisions From Tress.
There is s tree which grows In
Sumatra, Algeria and China, which is
known as the vegetable tallow tree.
From ita fruit large quantities of oil
and tallow are extracted, and the fruit
la gathered in November or December,
when all the leaves have fallen. Ex-
cellent candles are made from the ber-
ries Of a tree which grows In aome
parts of South Africa and the Azores.
At. Sierra Leone Is round the cream
fruit tree, the fruit of which la very
agreeable In taste. In Ceylon there Is
the bread fruit tree, from which a
rood is made in the same way that we
make bread, ft Is said to be equally
good and nutritious. In South Ameri-
