In 1913, a year after Adolphus Busch completed the Adolphus Hotel on Commerce, he con-
structed an office building a block away. Dallas's finest example of Commercial Gothic archi-
tecture, its first major tenant was A. Harris Department Store, which remained there until its
merger with Sanger Brothers in 1961. See "Going Downtown to Shop," beginning on p. 4.
