Quite a crowd of people from the
Sharp and surrounding commu-
nities enjoyed the annual barbe-
cue in the high school gym Mon-
day at 12 o’clock.
Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Phillips of
West Texas, where they are both
working, were in Tracy and Rock-
dale over the week end, coming
to visit the Lawrence and Swanzy
families.
Mrs. Nick Caffey of Rockdale
visited Sunday School and was a
guest in the Ralph Caffey home.
Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Lindhorst
and daughter and mother, Mrs.
N. Caffey attended the barbecue
at Sharp Monday.
The Sharp Mustangs beat the
Bartlett team in a game Friday
night, 12 to 7. Jay Hams and
Wayne Cryer each made a touch-
down.
We see by the papers that we
have lost Don Box, our pastor, to
Normangee and will have William
Betts for our new pastor of the
Methodist church. We are sorry
to lose Bro. Box. He endeared
himself very much to the people
here and we wish him well where
he is and will give our new pastor
all that we have in us for that is
Methodism.
