1 Economic Development Council, of which he is a founding member; he
2 has also served on the boards of five area chambers of commerce and
3 several other economic development groups and has chaired the board
4 of Kingwood Medical Hospital; the recipient of numerous accolades,
5 he was named Citizen of the Year by both the Houston
6 Intercontinental Chamber of Commerce and the Acres Homes Chamber of
7 Commerce; and
8 WHEREAS, Dr. Head brings to his office incisive leadership,
9 deep experience, and a passionate commitment to the mission of
10 higher education, and he is making an immeasurable contribution to
11 the development of the Lone Star College System; now, therefore, be
12 it
13 RESOLVED, That the 84th Legislature of the State of Texas
14 hereby congratulate Dr. Stephen C. Head on his appointment as
15 chancellor of the Lone Star College System and extend to him sincere
16 best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
17 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
18 prepared for Dr. Head as an expression of high regard by the Texas
19 House of Representatives and Senate.
