The first "Summer Health Round-
Dp" of the County was held in
Odeni, Tuesday, April 20, at the
school building. 3-4 children were
in attendance with a large percent-
age of the parents.
A general physician, a specialist
(eye, ear, nose and throat) and a
dentist gave the examinations. This
round-up was sponsored by the Odem
Parent Teacher Association with
Mrs. E. S. Butler, chairman, and
Miss Nell Stoltzfus, County Health
Nurse, assisting.
On Monday, April 27. parents are
asked to take their pre-school c hild-
ren (not previously vaccinated) to
their family physician for vaccina-
tion against smallpox.
Then later in the summer any
recommended corrections and diph-
theria innoculation should be iaken
care of so that all children may
enter school physically fit and not
be handicapped physically.
The mind and body are,very .close-
|ly related.
The mind can function much bet-
ter in a well body.
A Summer Round-Up was given
in Ingleside, Wednesday, April 22
and will be gls J§ in Gregory Friday
April 24 and in Sinton April 30, all
sponsored by Parent TeaOliers Asso-

The San Patricio County Dentists
offered an Oral Hygiene silver lov-
ing cup to the first grade of the
county having the highest percent-
age of Its pupils on the Dental Hon-
or Roll.
Through the perseverance of Mrs.
Carpy Eads, chairman of the Health
Committee, and her helpers, with
the excellent co-operation of the
active Parent Teachers Association,
the parents and the children, Dr.
Taylor, dentist of Slnton, Miss
Stoltzfus, county health nurse, and
the teacher, Mrs. Ella 0, Hurst, the
Odem First Grade won the cup with
ran; record of 96%. .
It was won last year, by the Odem
First. Grade with a, record of 50%.

Girls of Ihe Hinton Order of the
Rainbow Assembly were hostesses
to Rainbow Assemblies of Taft and
Aransas Pass Tuesday evening at
the Masonic hall. Miss Virginia
Myers. Slnton Worthy Advisor, pre
sided over the initiatory ceremonies,
in dignified manner, and extended
gracious welcome to visiting Rain-
bows and Eastern Stars.
After the initiation proper, a social
hour was enjoyed and the Rainbows
took part in an amusing contest, at
the close of which each group of
Rainbows, Taft, Aransas Pass and
Sinton, received first and booby
prizes.
Visiting Mother Advisors of Taft
and Aransas Pass, Mrs. Ethel Alex-
ander and Mrs. Robbie Yolland,
were presented dainty corsages of
pink rosebuds by the Slnton Mother
Advisor, Mrs. Maymie Park. Dainty
hand-painted cards were given the
guests as they entered, on which
to write their names and to wear,
that everybody might easily get ac-
quainted.
The pleasant evening was brought
to a close by the serving of a deli-
cious ice course, with sweet peas
as plate favors. The serving com-
mittee was compost'd of the follow-

Fifty or more guests were pres-
