Hickl Says Our
Cotton Prices
Exceed Foreign
Collective causes of improved
price of cotton are acreage allot-
ments, marketing quotas and the
loan program, Mr. Hickl, chairman
of the Matagorda County A. A. A.
committee, announced this week.
“American prices are about twice
that of foreign countries, none of
which have a farm program ap-
proaching ours,” the chairman said
in pointing out that cotton prices
are nearer parity than in many
years.
In receiving better prices for cot-
ton, fanners are enjoying a meas-
ure of prosperity more comparable
to other classes, he said.
Farmers of Matagorda County
should learn all the facts about cot-
ton before voting in the national
referendum, Saturday, December
