Several of our more enterprising citi-
zens have improved tb. • oppoitunity the
recent cold w aiher to provide th emselves
with ice. Euper ,X Co., Jerry Nolan and
Mr Lebermann, are putting up large
quantities, jerry has an ice house 19 by
2<ji feet— u feet high, which he will have
packed to the roof; and Lebermunn is till-
ing a room 25 by 20 feet—8 feet. high.
The best ice is obtained from Duck
creek, but a good deal has been hauled
from the pond at the mill.
Some of the cakes taken out are six
inches thick, and very solid and trans-
parent.
We understand the Arctic Ice Coinpa-
j ny are also putting ice into their ice
house.
There will he no corner on the “frozen
i liquid” in this cite next summer.
