Burton Springs Sunday School I
Report.
Burton Springs Home Depart-
ment Sunday School has just closed
the' third Quarterly, with fairly
good results.
We began with seven members,
now we have 26.
The Home Department Sunday
School here also has a library. The
writer hopes the time will soon be
when every community will have a
Home Department Sunday School
and library. Oh, may we not con-
tinue to cast this long felt need in
the back ground. All about us
are those who do not or cannot at-
tend Sunday school, then why not
place religious literature in their
hdmes. “Feed my sheep,” said
Christ the shepherd. Place the
food within their reach.
On the Honor Roll will be found
the name of those that studied each
lesson.

Everything was quiet and order-

wagon sheets had been put up and
seats for a large audience arranged.
At'H o’clock Rev. Forester, the
master of ceremonies, introduced
Mr. James L. Spiller who delivered

theme the semi-centennial of Jack
county. It was an able and elo-
quent speech and was attentively
listened to by the citizens.
Rev. Forester next introduced a
man whom he styled the “Hon.”
Tom Marks who started out to
make a long rambling talk but see-
ing the dinner being piled on the
table dismissed the crowd and
made a bee line for the table and
was soon outside of a large piece of
barbecue.
After dinner Mr. D. R. Richard-

The State University.
An institution which is the pride
of the people of Texas is our State
University. It was founded to
meet the needs and promote the
welfare of our people. That the
facilities which it affords are being
appreciated is evidenced by the
constantly increasing attendance
from year to year. There is no
reason why the young men aad
women of Texas should go oat of
the State to obtain a first-class ed-
ucation; and we are glad to say,
the trend is no longer in that di-
rection. Being an institution of
the commonwealth, the University
of Texas prepares men and women
for service to the State, and it be-
lieves that practical, common sense
knowledge makes a good and use-
ful citizen. In its several depart-
ments it is admirably equipped for
meeting the educational needs of
Texans. If any of our readers are
interested in the work of the Uni-
versity, let them write for a cata-
log to Wilson Williams, Registrar,
Austin.
