Nowlin, 78, of Coleman
died Wednesday, Septem-
, ber 15,1982 at 3:50 a.m. at
Scott and White Hospital
in Temple. Funeral ser-
| vices were Friday, Sept-
ember 17, at 2 p.m. at
Walker Funeral Chapel
with the Rev. Charlie
Schuler officiating.
Born June 2, 1904 in
Coleman County, she was a
lifetime resident of Cole-
man and attended Mary
Hardin Baylor. She was a
homemaker and school
teacher in the Coleman and
Novice school systems. On
October 10,1930, she mar-
ried W. I, (Jimmy) Nowlin
in the First Presbyterian
Church of Coleman.
Survivors include her
husband; one daughter,
Marilyn Nini of Coleman;
and one granddaughter,
Taryn Henderson of Abi-
lene.
Pallbearers were Don
Starnes, Bill Sneed, Wal-
lace Dingus, Oplin Saun-
ders, Thelbert Elkins,
Fred Rudolph, Earle Smith
and Bub Miller. Interment
was in the Coleman City
Cemetery under the direc-
tion of Walker Funeral
Home.

Members of the Sensible
Weight Trimmers met
Thursday evening at 6:30
p.m. for weigh-in at St.
Mark's Episcopal Church
Parish Hall. Seven were
present and a total of
sixteen pounds were lost.
The meeting began at 7
p.m. when diet recipes for
breakfast drinks were
discussed. During the ses-
sion Angell Hamm read a
newsletter from the Better
Living, Better Breathing
Clulj at Brownwood; a test
was given on vitamins; and
an exercise program was
conducted.
Sensible Weight Trim-
mers stress a healthy eat-
ing program for permanent
weight loss while expand-
ng the joys of the table.
All interested persons are
invited to join the group
each Thursday evening.

Lectureship
.. The Northside Church of
Christ in Santa Anna, at
Avenue B and First Street,
will conduct a Bible Lec-
tureship, five nights, Sun-
day through Thursday,
Sept. 26-20, with services
beginning each night at
7:30.
There will be five differ-
ent speakers on the pro-
gram, each discussing a
different topic of the
theme, “Identifying The
New Testament Church."
The speakers will be-Sun-
day night, Sept. 26, Lin-
wood E. Bishop, local min-
ister of the Santa Anna

The Santa Anna Future
Farmers of America met
last week to elect officers
for the current school year.
Elected as president was
Jeannie Radicke, daughter
of Bill and Betty Tucker.
Jeannie, the first girl to
serve as president of the
group, was chosen from
the 40-member organiza-
tion.

SAHS, is a former secre-
tary of the chapter and has
excelled in FFA and voca-
tional agriculture. She was
awarded the Chapter
Greenhand award as a
freshman, and last year
received the Golden Swine
Award for outstanding
showmanship and man-
agement of her swine pro-
ject. She was also named
Star Chapter Farmer last
year and was a member of
a judging team that ad-
vanced to the Area compe-
tition.

meeting was the FFA
Sweetheart, Lesha Eu-
bank, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Max Eubank. Lesha is
a sophomore at SAHS.

Church"; Monday night,
James F. Scott, minister of
the Bangs Church of
Christ, “Identifying the
New Testament Church in
Doctrine”; Tuesday night,
Sam Wilson, minister of
the Hillcrest Church of
Christ in Coleman will
speak on the subject,
“Identifying the Church in
its Worship”; Wednesday
night, Gerald Stockstill,
minister of the Elm Street
Church of Christ in Cole-
man will identify the New
Testament Church in “Its
Zeal”, and Thursday night,
Jim Hall, minister of the
Early Church of Christ will
identify the New Testa-
ment Church in the matter
of “Godly Living” on the
part of its members.
The public is cordially
invited to attend any or all
of these lectures.

A ROTTED BASE
Provided that the
rest of the post is sound,
a fence post that has
rotted beneath the sur-
face can be supported
with a concrete spur.
This saves having to
replace the post. Dig
around the post on one
side to a depth of 45
cm/18 in. Place the spur
within the hole, lining
up its pre-drilled holes
with a sound part of the
post. Then fill the hole
with concrete. Allow
at least a week for the
concrete to harden.
Then partly hammer
the spur into the post
and tighten them with a
wrench.
VISE
Select a vise with an
offset clamp so that it
can be fixed to the side
of the work surface as
well as the front. If it is
not possible to hold
narrow objects in the
center of the vise, pad
the vise with scrap
wood to even out the
