this community celebrate
its centennial.
For all of those who
came out this weekend to
visit the wall, I hope you
all left with the same feel-
ing of great pride as we at
the post felt.
We appreciate all of the
Vietnam veterans who
assisted and stood by our
sides during this memo-
rable event.
These veterans have
waited a long time for this
overdue welcome home
and I know after talking to
some of them that they left
with a sense of pride, not
only in our great nation,
but in themselves for the
service to this country.
A big hearty thank you
is due to all the contribu-
tors who donated money,
and the many volunteers
who gave their time to help
make The Vietnam Wall
a very successful event.
Local veterans as well
as veterans from across
South Texas joined in the
Vietnam Wall ceremonies,
and for that, we’re grate-
ful.
Many thanks to the
Woodsboro and Refugio
High School Band for their
outstanding performance
in Friday’s ceremonial
event.
Their touching rendi-
tions of patriotic music
brought a deep feeling
of pride for these young
musicians who did a fan-
tastic job.
The Ram Chavez
Veterans Band, Joseph
Galloway, Vince Cantu,
Phillip Sanchez and all the
dignitaries touched our
hearts and made this event
one that will be remem-
bered for years to come.
