VFWPost 6290 to host breast cancer benefit Sunday
REFUGIO - The VFW Post 6290 will
host a breast cancer benefit fundraiser
at noon Sunday, Oct. 20, at the VFW
hall. Spaghetti and salad will be served.
Everyone is welcome to help raise
money for Breast Cancer Awareness
Month.
The Marine Corps League is having a
50/50 raffle to raise money to purchase
bicycles as Christmas gifts to a boy and
girl selected by each school district in the
county, including Goliad ISD, during the
Christmas holidays.

Oct. 26, has been cancelled and will be
rescheduled at a later date.
The Marine Corps League’s next reg-
ular monthly meeting is on Thursday,
Oct. 17, at the VFW Hall.

sold by each Marine Corps League mem- *s minute planning for the
ber. The goal is to sell $1,000 worth of upcoming event scheduled for Saturday,
tickets, and the winner will win $500 at N°v- 2, at the Refugio County Museum,
the drawing scheduled for Nov. 9. The The Corpus Christi Veteran Band and

recognize all surrounding veterans and
their families. Everyone is welcome to

of Democracy and Patriot Pen Contest.

Vehicle rollover
A female called 911
reporting her boyfriend
had been in a vehicle roll-
over on Wranosky Road
in Woodsboro. But did
not know if the subject
was hurt. According to
the report, the jaws of life
were used to get the male
subject out. The male sub-
ject refused medical atten-
tion.
Marijuana possession
A female suspect was
taken to Refugio County
Jail at 10:51 p.m. on Oct.
7 for possession of mari-
juana following a traffic
stop initiated by Deputy
Larry Patton on Highway
77 South of Copano Creek.
Two males and female
were taken to Refugio
County Jail at 10:45 p.m.
on Oct. 13 following a
traffic stop initiated by
Trooper Andrew Smith on
Highway 2678 South of
774.

A male suspect was

Jail for possession of a con-
trolled substance following
a traffic stop initiated by
Deputy Larry Patton on

At 11:41 a.m. on Oct. 9,
a male suspect was taken
to Refugio County Jail for
possession of a controlled
substance and driving
while license invalid on
Highway 77 North fol-
lowing a traffic stop by
Trooper Randy Kaiser.
A male suspect was
taken to Refugio County
Jail at 11:11 p.m. on Oct.
9 for driving while license
invalid and possession of
a controlled substance.

Credit card fraud
At 4:52 p.m. on Oct.
8, a Woodsboro woman
reported her credit card
had been used at three dif-
ferent gas stations and at
H-E-B while she was out of

8, an 18-wheeler lost his
