OKMH and ACS promote Great
American Smokeout Campaign
Contributed information
KENEDY - For the
second year in a row, the
Otto Kaiser Memorial
Hospital is teaming
up with the American
Cancer Society to pro-
mote the Society’s Great
American Smokeout
campaign.
This event, open to
the public, is a chance
for a sharing of resource
materials with one com-
mon theme—the effects
of smoking on the body.
All citizens are
encouraged to come to
Otto Kaiser Memorial
Hospital’s lobby today
(Thursda) from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. Specifically
invited are local cancer
survivors and caregivers.
As members of a group
that is way too familiar
with the cancer battle,
these folks are encour-
aged to take part in this
life-saving messaging
campaign.
The rally is sure to be
a joy as attendees enjoy
cake, beverages, camara-
derie and ACS literature,
while spreading the life-
saving message of smok-
ing cessation. Those who
attend will also have the
chance to learn about —
and sign up for — the
2014 American Cancer
Society Relay For Life
of Karnes County, and
the chance to register for
several door prizes.
For more informa-
tion about volunteering
on the Relay For Life
Committee or to serve as
a team captain, call Tina
Jones at 830-299-9453.
