Austwell seeks funding for playground equipment

AUSTWELL - The city of
Austwell is looking at $40,000
to pay for new playground
equipment for the city park,
according to Mayor David
Cann.
Planned is to seek a grant
that would pay for at least 90
percent of the cost.
The city began in earnest
to raise money for the equip-
ment with a fundraiser on
Nov. 9.
Since that fundraiser, dona-
tions have continued to come
in, and the current amount
raised is $4,202, according

toy drive for kids at
Christmastime.

set up at businesses and
City Hall on Tuesday,
Nov. 19.
The event is strictly
for Woodsboro, no other
communities.

picked up on Dec. 18 so
we can wrap and pass
out the gifts for kids,”
she said.
The toy drive will be
an annual event dubbed
the Soaring Eagle
Christmas.
