from the Hatton W. Sumners Foun-
dation of Dallas.
Both received their degrees from
Howard Payne University in May
and will attend Southern Methodist
University School of Law begin-
ning in August, according to Col.Russell 0. Fudge, director of the
Academy.
Akins and Elliston are among 65
college graduates from 17 states who
competed for a total of seven schol-
arships.
The Sumners Foundation also a-
wards ten $4,000 scholarships each
spring to competing students who
have formally applied for admittance
into t h e Academy of Freedom.
