in jail where he will be held until
an officer can come from Ala-
bama to identify him. If he

County Clerk Lugene Low came
very near meeting with a serious
accident while driving two young
horses. Home part of the har-
ness broke which scared his team
and started them to running.
Mr.. Low was thrown out and
sustained some very ugly look-
ing cuts on his face, though
strange to say escaped without
any serious hurts.
Juan Bavigan, a Mexican who
has been working on the Shelly
ranch was arrested Tuesday
afternoon and placed in jail
by Sheriff Johnson. He was quite
violent and had to be tied to
prevent-his doing himself and
those around him bodily harm.
Wednesday morning he was
tried, for lunacy and will be sent
to the asylum.

cold weather after Xmas. You

Contractor Morris with eigh-
teen teams of his outfit, broke

morning and are throwing up

gan work in the Mitchell pasture

It was reported on the street
last week that Peter Power, who
lives on the Ban Antonio river,
had killed Will Hutchins of ■ Vic-
toria county. We have never
been able to get the facts of the
trouble. Both parties were
negroes.
J udge Savage was con lined to
his bed several days of this week
on account of a horse kicking
him. The accident occured Sun-
day afternoon and for a while
the attending physician thought
that the bone in his leg had been
broken.
If you don’t believe that ad-

burg. He said he advertised
some lap robes in last week’s
Review and sold out by Satur-
day night.
