KATY SALTWATER DISPOSAL COMPANY. INC.
M« ui STlhu
September 24, 1985
Editor, Timpson News
Timpson, Texas
Sear Sir:
This letter is directed to yon with the request that it be
printed in your paper, in entirety, to inform the citizens
of Timpson that Katy Saltwater Disposal Company has with-
drawn it's application to the Texas Water Commission for a
permit (No. WDW-242) to dispose of plant waste water through
it’s saltwater disposal well. The well will be continued in
service to dispose of oilfield saltwater under permit grant-
ed by the Texas Railroad Commission.
The Katy management considers that an aggravated atmosphere
of fear and hostility is not condmcive to the proper conduct
of s legitimate business enterprise licensed and regulated by
the Texas Water Commission.
Many unfounded charges have been made against Katy and, in
some Instances, against it's employees. Katy stands ready to
refute each and every such charge in a properly conducted
forum in Timpson at a time and place scheduled by your news-
paper. The Texas Water Commission hearing set for October 29
in Center will be cancelled as Katy sees no good in prolong-
ing uneasiness for another m.oath.
In the future, as Katy provides an essential oil and gas
industry service at it’s present location, it will do so in
a thoroughly responsible manner that will, in no way, cause
harm to any resident of Timpson or Shelby County. The well
that Katy drilled and equipped specifically for deep-well
disposal has as many safeguards built into It as any such
well anywhere in this nation.
Tt is the intention of Katy Saltwater Disposal Company to
be a good citizen and neighbor, supportive of deserving
programs and events In the Timpson area.
Sincerely,
Fashion Depot held their brand Opening on Saturday, Sept. 21. several
