Than^You
Words cannot express the heartfelt thanks we would like to
extend to all the wonderful people that were there for us during
the loss of our home. To the brave and considerate fireman that
responded to the call in the middle of the night, thank you for all
you did to save our home. Thanks to the First Baptist Church,
the Ester Class of First Baptist, and Greens Creek Baptist Church
for the meals and gifts.
To all of my great neighbors, John and Vinita Dendy, John and
Sandie Linne, Mary Einne, Duane and Brenda Tayor who
provided necessities and food and were there when we needed
them and have continued to be there for us.
A very special thanks to Selena Shaw, Pam Black, and Bart
Green way. There is no way to say thanks for all you have done
for us from the meals, gifts, trips to the store, offers of places to
stay, and just the moral support and the hugs of love that you
have given to our family.
We may have lost our home but we still have the most
important things: our family, our pets, and the wonderful friends
that have showed their love and support.
A loss of this magnitude has made all of us take a closer look
at what is really important in life and what really matters. It is
being with your family and having wonderful friends that
genuinely care about you. Thanks to all that called to check on us
and kept us in their prayers. We appreciate all of you and hope
that someday we will be able to repay the kindness.

Time to register for upcoming ACT
College-bound high school students can take the ACT
Assessment on Dec. 11, 2004, the next national test date. The
deadline for postmark registration is Nov. 5. The late registration
deadline is Nov. 18, but an additional $15 charge is required.
Students can get registration from their guidance counselor or
online at www.actstudent.org.
Some students perform better on the ACT than other tests
because it is based on achievement, not aptitude. The ACT exam
includes four parts: English, reading, mathematics and science. It
takes three hours to complete. The test fee is $28. Free sample tests
are available from high school counselors and sample questions can
be found on the ACT website, which also offers inexpensive
practice tests.
Beginning in Feb. 2005, an optional writing test will be added to
the ACT Assessment. Since many colleges will not require a writing
score, students will only have to take the writing test if their college
requires it. Otherwise, they may opt for the regular ACT
Assessment without the writing test. Students who plan to start
college in the fall of 2006 should check with prospective colleges to
find out if a writing score is required.
