Phone distraction leads to crash
The driver of this vehicle was unharmed after he accidentally swerved into a semi truck
before noon Thursday on northbound U.S. 287. Officer Brian Clark of the Ennis Police De-
partment said the driver of the car looked down at his phone and crashed into the truck.
Neither driver was injured.

James “Jim” Wartsbaugh
James “Jim” Wartsbaugh, age 55 of Kemp, passed
away in Ennis on Monday, February 11, 2013. He
was born in Hammond, Indiana, on May 22,1957 to
George Carl and Marie (Gleeson) Wartsbaugh. In
1976 he graduated from Hammond Tech, in Ham-
mond, Indiana. Jim worked for Inland Steel in East
Chicago, Indiana and Barbeque Wood Flavors in
Ennis, Texas.
He is survived by three brothers, Steve Warts-
baugh, David Wartsbaugh and his wife Sue, and
George Wartsbaugh and his wife Annie; two sisters,
Mary Downs and Sharron O’Connor and her hus-
band Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews and
great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George
Carl and Marie (Gleeson) Wartsbaugh and brother-
in-law, Robert Downs.
The family will receive friends Friday, February
15, 2013 from 6 to 8 RM. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. in
Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis,
Texas.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 A.M. Sat-
urday, February 16,2013 at St. Joseph Cemetery with
Father John Dick presiding. Pallbearers will be
Charles Wartsbaugh, Brian Wartsbaugh, Kevin
Wartsbaugh, and Glenn Downs.
