Annual Fund Raising Drive
Texas Wesleyan College will
conduct a $200,000 Sustentation
Fund campaign November 1-19
throughout Tarrant County' Dr.
W. M. .Pearce, president of the
College announced Saturday.

Wesleyan pours practically all of
its S2.5 million annual budget
into the mainstream of the Tar-
rant County economy
The Campaign's Kickoff Lunch-
eon, was November 1, in the Fort
Worth Club. Jack Butler, editor
of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram
and a former student of the Col -
lege was sneaker at the luncheon.

Mr. Dan Connelly, an Arlington
lawyer; Miss Wanda Madding,
teacher of speech and drama at
Arlington High School; and Mrs.
Melody Schenck. originator of
the TXWECO Beauty Pageant
five years ago. Judging will be
based on an evaluation of beauty,
fashion, figure, make-up, hair,
and poise.
This fifth annual pageant is
sponsored by the TXWECO staff
and coordinated by Nancy Mon-
tague. Master of ceremonies is
Mr. Vic Thompson. Intermission
entertainment will be provided
by the Natural Society, consisting
Of Mark Casburn, Rick Eubanks.
Anita Jemison. Lvle_Kan: use. and
Pam Parrish. An added feature,
this year, will be the escorting
of the twelve finalists by Alpha
Phi Omega. Gamma Sigma Sigma
actives and pledges will usher.

Belcher. ?. four-year veteran of
the police force, was killed at
approximately 12:50 a.m. outside
the Electric Circus, a nightclub,
where he had been called to aid
other officers during a disturb-
ance.
The shooting occurred at the
nightspot during the aftermath
of an earlier disturbance that
killed a 23-year-old mar. Belcher
was killed when he was- hit in
the head by a bullet.
Belcher, a 1965 graduate of
Paschal High School, was a soci-
o 1 o gv - g ove r r. me n t ma jo r.
He joined the city police force
four years earlier and was or. the
Law Enforcement Program. This
was- a grant that aided him in
tuition while working as a city
policeman.
During his studies in sociology,
he became interested in the field
of law enforcement. In a state-
ment made by Mrs. Mary Bel-
cher his wife of three years, she
/mdieatejjp»hat he planned to con-
tinue ir. that field after gradu-
ating.
Donations may be made to the
Edward Belcher Fund at North
Fort Worth State Bank or at the
Senate Office in the Student Un-
ion Building on campus.

The members of the Student Education Associa-
tion observed the week by presenting all fac-
ulty members with big red apples.
Association Moves
Offices to TWC
' The office of the' Association of
Texas Colleges and Universities
will be moved from Austin to the
campus of Texas Wesleyan Col-
lege late in November.
This is an interim arrangement
which was necessitated by the
resignation of the Executive Di-
rector of the Association. Dr. J.-
Stewart Allen, effective last Sep-
tember 1. In accepting the res-'
ignation. the Association's Board
of Directors instructed that the
Austin office be closed ar.d that
it be moved to the campus of the
Chairman of the Board or. a tem-
porary basis.
A decision or. the permanent
location of the headquarters will
be made b> the full membership
at the annual meeting ir. Houston
next April
