This free event will be at the Outrigger on
Sept. 1 from 2-10 p.m. and the line-up includes
10 regional bands: K Phillips & The Concho
Pearls, Little Brave, Kinfolk, Ben Balmer,
Buggaboo, Ali Holder, Raj Pickens, Nicolette
Good, Mobley.
“The music line up is stellar for the 2nd
Nekkid Armadilla,” said event organizer Tim

“We are very excited to have so many
community organizations involved this year.
We reached out to area organizations to include
the whole community and bring awareness
to organizations like The Special Olympics,
Palacios Pet Pals, The Palacios Medical
Center, The VFW, to name a few. Palacios
home grown talent, the Palacios High School
Robotics Team, will show a demonstration of
their robot. Various booths supported by local
and area organizations have already signed on
for the entertaining event.
PAHA will be providing their ‘Old Fashion Ice
Cream Social’ at the free music festival where
patrons can enjoy homemade or Blue Bell ice
creams of their choice along with toppings.
Kids of all ages and sweet tooths alike will
enjoy this booth while knowing the proceeds
will be benefiting PAHA.
The Pregnancy Center of Matagorda County
will entertain children and challenge their
artistic abilities as they will be encouraged to
create their own masterpiece.
This kid friendly event will also feature a
bounce castle for children to bounce along to
the music.
All sponsor money raised goes toward the
performing artists, sound and advertising costs.
Be sure to join in on the music, food and family
fun in Palacios!

Experience was evident
at last weeks’ Palacios Eco-
nomic Development Monthly
Board meeting as Palacios
and Matagorda County Eco-
nomic Development Ex-
ecutive Director Michael
Strotheide introduced an in-
formational packet on a com-
pany called Site Location
Partnership (SLP).
SLP represents towns or
cities as a partner in 6 annual
trade shows (regardless if lo-
cal representation is able to
attend), has a proven track re-
cord to attract new industries,
creating jobs and investment
for communities.
“There are opportunities
out there to do this; you don’t
have to do it on your own,”
commented Strotheide re-
garding SLP’s services.
Ultimately SLP, in theo-
ry, will enable Palacios or
Matagorda County to have
unmatched value and return
on investment.
Smaller organizations with
conservative budgets have
areas of opportunity when it
comes to marketing potential.
“SLP will assist your or-
ganization by leveraging its
strong ties in the site selec-
tion profession to secure one-
on-one appointments with
industry-leading site consul-
tants, location advisors, and
corporate real estate execu-
tives,” according to the infor-
mational packet provided by
Strotheide.
SLP will market the area
and provide PEDC with sig-
nificant data deliverables
some of which include: full
contact information, custom-
ized databases, marketing,
personalized outreach and
corporate profile reports.
“That’s really what eco-
nomic development is all
about; trying to match the
community need with the
customer,” said Strotheide.
Strotheide indicated

While the statewide

for Matagorda County where

County at 7.1-percent.

“As of July, Texas has
maintained a positive annual
growth rate for 39 straight
