Allen J. Owens Dies countywide

In Wichita Falls Work on Signs
Allen J. Owens, a former resident
of Ennis, died Sunday in Wichita
Falls after a long illness.
Owens was reared in Alma anti
was a fireman for the Southern
Pacific Railroad in Emus before
going to Wichita Falls approxi-
mately 26 years ago. He was an
employee of the Owens-Bnitulcy
Funeral Home there.
Survivors include his wife: one
daughter, Mrs. Howard Boyles of
Wichita Falls: two grandsons:
lour brothers, Zed Owens of Ennis,
R. D. Owens and Joe Owens, both
of Fort Worth, and Bud Owens of
Vernon, and one sister, Mrs. Nora
Roberts of Burkburnett.
Funeral services are to be held
at Owens-Brumley Funeral Home
in Wichita Fails at 2 p in. Tuesday
Burial will be in Wichita Falls.

Mrs. O. H. Lumpkin has returned
from a visit in the Valley and San
Antonio where she visited in the
home, of Col. and Mrs. T. G. Hol-
land. Mrs. Holland is Mrs. Lump-
kin's sister.

A Thanksgiving night session or
the East Ellis County Singing Con-
vention will be held at the Odd
Fellows Home tor the Aged in En-
nis Thursday, November 24, Tip
Vines, president, announced today.
The Willis Family quartet of Ar-
lington will be featured.
The Bethel quartet and singers
from Waxahachie will also take
part in the program, Vines stated.
He said the largest crowd ever
to attend an East Ellis Singing
Convention program is expected
and invited the public to be pre-
sent.
