Malott was a deputy for the
Bosque County Sheriff’s office
for over four years. During his
tenure in Bosque County,
Malott was known for numer-
ous burglary and drug related
arrests and seizures, and was
instrumental in several felony
offender cases resulting in con-
victions.
He is familiar with the
Bosque County area and many
of its citizens. If elected, it is his
intention to bring leadership,
experience, and technology to
the sheriff’s office; to improve
employee morale and profes-
sionalism within the depart-
ment; to work in partnership
with the commissioners, local
and state law enforcement
agencies, and volunteer organi-
zation; and to increase criminal
patrol throughout the county.
Malott explains that he
brings with him a strong, pro-
fessional work ethic, a passion
for law enforcement, and a de-
sire to make the county a bet-
ter and safer place for not only
his children and family, but for
all the citizens of Bosque
County.
Malott has many family ties
in Bosque County. He is also the
grandson of Herman and Marie
Buckingham Wimberly, son-in-
law of Becki Brinkley, and
grandson-in-law of Ray and
Jean Miller, all of Meridian. He
is also the grandson of the late
Charles C. Buckingham, O.L.
(Doc) Malott, and Ophelia
Goains.

TCEQ To Hold
Meeting On
Leon River
HAMILTON — The Texas
Commission on Environmen-
tal Quality is hosting a public
meeting to update stakehold-
ers on the status of the Leon
River Total Maximum Daily
Load for bacteria, from 1:30 to
3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec.
12, at the Lee Conference
Center, 114 East Main Street
in Hamilton.
The goal of a TMDL is to de-
termine the amount (or load) of
a pollutant that a body of water
can receive and still support its
beneficial uses. TMDLs are re-
quired for some impaired wa-
ter bodies under the 1972
federal Clean Water Act
The Leon River below Proc-
tor Lake was identified as im-
paired due to elevated levels of
bacterial indicators for patho-
gens, specifically fecal coliform
and E-coli. The counties within
the watershed include
Comanche, Coryell, Erath,
Hamilton, and Mills.
Information on the project,
past meeting summaries, a list
of current stakeholder repre-
sentatives, and an overall
