accept the proposed tax
rate for 2013-14, and
Councilman Geoff Horn
seconded.
According to Hall, the
average taxable value of a
Navasota residence home-
stead was $83,259 last
year. Based on last year’s
tax rate of $0.4874 per
$100 of taxable value, the
amount of taxes imposed
last year on the average
home was $405.80.
This year, the average
taxable value is $85,579.
If the effective tax rate of
$0.4761 per $100 of tax-
able value is adopted, the
amount of taxes imposed
on the average home
would be $407.44. On the
other hand, if the pro-
posed tax rate of $0.5000
per $100 of taxable value
is adopted, the amount of
taxes imposed this year on
the average home would
be $427.90.
