Navasota City-Wide Garage Sale registration opens
The City of Navasota is gear-
ing up to promote its Ninth
Annual City-Wide Garage Sale
event planned for Saturday, Nov.
3, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. This
annual event encourages resi-
dents to conducts garage sales at
their home to “Make some
Green,” and “Be Green” by
helping to be environmentally
responsible through ReBuy and
ReUse.
The annual event has been a
success for Navasota residents
who sell their unwanted items,
while giving visitors an opportu-
nity to take advantage of the bar-
gains. The event is a great
opportunity for churches, non-
profit clubs, or non-profit organ-
izations wanting to conduct a
garage sale fundraiser for their
group.
Last year’s event registered a
total of 54 garage sales.
To participate, one must be a
resident of the City of Navasota,
the sale must be conducted in
the city limits at a home, and
residents must acquire a garage
sale permit and pay a $5 fee. No
commercial businesses will be
issued a permit or advertised on
the location map.
Residents who register early
will have their address printed
on a Garage Sale Location Map,
which will be published in the
Oct. 31 edition of the Navasota
Examiner newspaper. In addi-
tion, printed maps will also be
available at City Hall prior to the
event. The deadline to register
to be included on the location
map is Friday, Oct. 19.
The City of Navasota pro-
motes this once per year event
each November to support the
Statewide Texas Recycles Day
initiatives on November 15.
Texas Recycles Day encourages
residents to do their part to com-
mit to recycling by practicing
the four R’s (Reduce, Recycle,
Reuse and Rebuy.)
For more information on the
event or to register, contact the
Public Works office at 936-825-
