Virgil M. Barney, 70, red-
dest of Nacogdoches for
abort time, succumbed Wed-
nesday night of last week, fol-
lowing a lengthy illness. He
was the father of Allan Ram-
sey, director at inf formation at
Stephen F. Austin State Col-
lege.
The late Mr. Ramsey, a re-
tired Sun Oil Company emplo-
yee, had been in declining
health the past two years. Fu-
neral services were held Sa-
turday morning at 10 e’elock
in the Tennessee Community
Methodist Church near Ttap-
son. Rev. Waltman of Overton
aad Res George Hearse of
Tim peon conducted rite*. Bu-
rial was in the Tennessee ce-
metery. Masonic rites were
held at Graveside.
Mr. Rameey was bora and
reared in the Tennessee
inanity. He retired with Sun
Oil in 1957 after more than 30
yean service, was a Mason
and former member of Price
Lions Club.
