Mattie Adams, who has been confined

glad to see the good rain that fell last
night.
The people are all at work putting

Isaac Humphrey is up after a spell

Gus Jumper is loading wagon
this morning to go to the blaok land
to make his home. He will live near

James C. Dahlman, "Cowbqy” Mayor
of Omaha, “Throws the Lariat.”
Mayor James C. Dahlman started his
career as a cowboy, and is at present
may or of Omaha, and has the fol-
lowing record: Sheriff of Dawes Co.,
Neb., three terms; Mayor of Chadron,
two terms; Democratic National Com-
mitteeman, eight years; Mayor of
Omaha, six years, and in 1910 candi-
date for governor of Nebraska. Writ-
ing to Foley & Co., Chicago, he says:

Prof. Homer Pharr will begin his
school at Shady Grove, four miles
south of the city, Monday morning,
October 23rd.
Shady Grove is a star community
and her citizens are wide awake to
the school interests, and they are for-
tunate in securing the services of Prof.
Pharr for the present session.
Mr. Pharr is a Pickton boy. I have
known him from his^Ohildhood. He
is ambitious, gentlemanly and a young
man of purpose and high and strong
aspirations. I predict that he will be
found a happy hit at Shady Grove.
