The Green Pond Debating Society
had a very nice program Friday even-
ing. We will change it tonight. We
will also have a short program and
a box supper Friday night week,,
which will be the 22nd. It will be for
the benefit of our school to get lajrge
maps and a globe and chart. Every-
body is invited to come.
Sam Stinson returned home Sunday
after a few days visit at Cooper.

lie Mae Butler, Grady Prim and Titus
Peacock have been quite sick for the
past few days.
Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Morris have had
a l;ttle daughter, Ruby Nell, stopping
with them since Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Farler we/e the
guests of the Davis family Sunday.
The box supper was a great suc-
cess, raising $61.25. The cake which
brought $21.25 of the amount, was
given to Little Lillie Brothers.
Bro. McPhail filled his appointment
her^ at the Presbyterian church Sun-
day with a large attendance.
Miss Cora Morris visited Migs Neva
Morris Saturday and Sunday.
Misses Era Stevenson and Lula
Davis attended the Interscholastic
League at Divide Saturday, return-
ing Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Young visited Mr.
W. A. Stuart Sunday.
Kenneth Spencer visited home folks
from Friday until Sunday.
Bro. Kirby will preach here next
Saturday night, Sunday and Sunday

every one is enjoying good health at
present.
The weather is colder now and the
hogs continue to be Slaughtered al-
most daily.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Irons,
Tuesday night, Dec. 6th., a ten pound
girl.
Mrs. Haley Gage and Mrs. Ora Mil-
ler of Ft. Worth are visiting at Porter
Drakes’.
Kenneth .Vaughn and Miss Lola
Hank were married at Wolfe City on
Wednesday, arriving here Friday.
They will make their home at Pleas-
>ant Grove.
Misses Jewel Moss and Annie Cox
of Cumby spent Saturday night and
Sunday with Miss Virgie McNeeley.
Miss Sudie Stringfellow has been
visiting Mrs. Ethel Gillis of Cumby
during last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Irons are rejoic-
ing over an eleven-pound boy, born
Saturday night.
Carl Thompson spent Saturday night
and Sunday at D. W. Bays.’
R. Q. Rolston and family visited at
Mr. McQueen’s Sunday evening.
John Junell and family moved to
the place where Jim Caudel lived last
year.
Mr. and Mrs. Rosson of Cumby have
moved into our community.
Uncle Jim Hodge of Antlers, Okla.,
has come back to Cumby to stay.

this community is very good at this

Everybody is through picking cotton
in this part of the county, and are pre-
paring for Christmas.
There have been quite a number of
hogs killed this week.
Dr. Manning, Mr. Walker and Mr.
Anderson, all of this place, have pur-
chased new cars.
Mias Lola Manning of Sulphur
Springs spent from Friday until Sun-
day with home folks at this place.
