Dear Mr. Lawrence,
People should have a
choice: Do wish ; Do
not wish to have city
mosquito spraying on their
home.
I have asked the city
manager to omit spraying
at our home.
Why?!I get ill each time
at once.
And who among us can
foretell what the possible
potential long-term side
effects on our people may
be proved in 10, 15 or 20
years? •
Other readers may be
able to* suggest other
alternatives for less mos-
quitoes intown such as (1)
taking care of breeding
laces, (2) pennyroyal
ves rubbed on screen
doors, (3) harmless garlic
spray, <41 insect light
traps.

with the s^ray.
This spring many tax-
payers are trying to raise
gardens, some of them for
choice.
It’s easy to-get scientific
information on harm of
sprays, but we ordinary
people can read the
newspapers (such as the
attacned clipping).
We have only praise for
the city employees, and
our newspaper, even if we
don't want mosquito
spraying. -
Sincerely,
Mrs. Paul Reily
Dear Sir:
It is with a deep sense
of reluctance that I write
this letter but if I’m to
consider myself a man
then it must be done.
When I appeared before
the City Council in
February requesting that
the foundation part of the
building code be amended,
we just got the run-
around. Although the
Mayor stated that neither
he nor the Council knew
anything about building
they would not take advice
from someone that did.
We are very curious as
to how anyone could
justify having one con-
tractor follow the building
code and let another one
disregard it when the jobs
are only about two blocks
apart.
t Such dealings have left
a number of us very
unhappy. If we can’t be
treated fair we see no need
of any code or anything
else. Yours truly,
Will J. Ney Jr.
