the M-system, over a ten-year period.

It is recorded somewhere that Oabriel Mouton, who
started all this metric miasma way back in 1670 Was a

meddling with millimeters [mm] and milliliters [ml.] and
such.

Since the days of cave man architecture, women have
been making the dust fly, especially on housenileaning
day.
Now, a new trend. Texas Tech University graduate,
Miss STELLA MUMME of Hondo, has earned the dis-
tinction of being the first woman technician to be
employed by the Texas Soil Conservation Service. Now,
she will be telling the dust where to stay put where it
belongs, how to get to where it is supposed to go, how
and what the soil of which it is composed can produce
to best advantage and all the et ceteras in the book.
This young woman hitched her wagon to a star early
in life and has stayed in the driver's seat with a firm

I can remember when coyotes were plain old coyotes
whose howls at night in the brush country used to scare
the proverbial living daylights out of me when I was a
little girl.
Now they are predators making headlines in many
parts of the U.S. The for and against arguments
continue to mount • and did you know that South
Dakota is nicknamed the Coyote State?
It amazed me to read [AH 4/4/74] that the wild
creatures are taking a look-see at life in the city, as
reported with pictorial proof, by FLOYD BADER, 309
22nd Street.
Environmentalists, with good intentions, argue the
point about any damage the coyotes do. Cattle and
sheep producers take a dim view of this and offer their
own experiences as evidence of the destruction wrought
I read the report [AH 5/16\ about "Full house hears
coyote program." It will be interesting [and perhaps
furnish proof-positive] when the results of the M-44
coyote killing device experiment are released.
It must have merit or former Game Warden
AUGUST TIMMERMAN [now retired] would have
absolutely nothing to do with. it.

attend programs, dinners, dance recitals and other forms

years I claimed Hondo as home.
