All has been quiet around
PHV this week. We have some
more activities planned for
later in the month and the first
of May. The baseball tourna-
ment did not turn out real well
because of the weather. We will
try again next year but it will
be done a little differently!! The
Black Hawks and The Special
Ladies have been sponsoring a
series of dances at Mr. King
Georges with all the proceeds
going to the playground fund.
There will be another tourna-
ment the second week in June.
There will be a party for
adults May 3 at PHV. The time
will be 7:80 p.m. There will be
door prizes, games and refresh-
ments.
Mrs. Rone Smith of Apt.
44A, has been in Silsbee
Doctors Hospital for treatment.
Mrs. Minnie Adams is still in
John Sealy Hospital.
Mrs. Wooten, manager of
PHV, turned in $298 to win the
T.V. in the 'American Cancer
Crusade run walk or crawl
event. Jennifer wooten won the
trophy for being the youngest
entry. She was four years old.
The senior citizens will have
their barbecue Friday April 25
at Knupple Park at 10:30 a.m.
Mrs. Lucille Smith will pick
them up and take them back
home afterwards.
Amanda Spencer celebrated
her birthday at the senior
citizens meal site. Cake and
punch were served.
Jeff Hobbs with Silsbee State
Bank has become a sponsor for
our softball teams. He has
donated enough money for
them to join the city league and
has bought some more gloves
for the players.
The softball teams will play
three games Saturday. Barbe-
cue will be sold at the games.
There will be a car wash held at
PHV for the ball teams.
