Finnells Celebrate28
Years Texas Style
Kay and Charles Finnell of Holliday recently celebrated their
28th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Fiesta Bowl in
Phoenix Arizona, sponsored by the University of Texas Ex-
Students from this region. Here the Finnells are shown enjoying
the UT Longhorn’s (24-21) last- minute victory over the Ohio
State Buckeyes. Congratulations Kay and Charles!

Athletic Booster
Club Rib Feed
The Holliday Booster Club will
be hosting a rib feed for a
funraiser. The dinner will take
place this Saturday, January 31,
in the Holliday Elementary
School Cafeteria frome 5:00 pm-
8:00pm. Tickets are $8.00
dollars for adults and $5.00 for
kids (12 and under)
The Ermis family will cook full
slabs of ribs for $20.00 and
Jimmy Willis will cook the
beans. Full slabs can be
ordered by calling Steve Moser
@636-0813. Everyone come
out and enjoy the great food.
Property Tax
Deadline
January 31st is the state law
deadline for paying property
taxes, but because that day falls
on a weekend this year, you
have until February 2,2009 to
get your taxes paid with no
penalty and interest. Taxes paid
after that due date incur
penalties and interest that
increase with each month paid
January 29,2009
late, if tax payments are mailed,
the post office cancellation date
determines the date payment is
made. If mailed, your payment
must be cancelled by the post
offiece no later than february 2,
2009, or the payment will incur
penalties and interest. For the
taxpayers that have property in
Windthorst I.S.D., please note
that your received 2 different tax
statements this year and they
both need to be paid, if you
need to know if all taxes have
been paid or if you should have
any questions, please call the
Archer County Tax office at 940-

Scotland’s
Annual German
Sausage Meal
The Scotland Knights
of Columbus, Council #1715 will
hold their annual German
Sausage meal on Sunday,
February, 1st from 11:00 a.m.
until 2:30 p.m. at the Scotland
Knights of Columbus Hall
located 15 miles South of
Wichita Falls on .U.S. Highway
281.
The sausage meal is an
all you can eat dinner that
includes homemade German
sausage, sauerkraut with
sparerib meat sauce, and all the
trimmings, plus coffee or tea
and a homemade dessert. Adult
tickets are $ 10.00 and children
under 12 are $5.00.
For those who can’t
stay for the meal, take-out
plates are available, and for
those who like to cook their
own, raw sausage is also
available for sale.
In addition to the meal,
the Saint Boniface Parish
Christian Mothers and Altar
Society will be holding a bake
sale with homemade bread, pies,
cakes, cinnamon rolls and much
more.
The annual German
Sausage meal is the Knights of
Columbus’ main fundraiser for
the year. Three thousand
pounds of homemade sausage
is being prepared for the meal
this year with 1600 hungry
visitors expected to gather in
Scotland for a Super Meal on
Super-Bowl Sunday.

Service Project
The Holliday FFA
picked up trash over the
Christmas break as part of their
community service project.
Their area is located on FM
